A point to dwell on...

I have read all of the posts regarding " impressions " and reports of the DAN

conference andI have an observation that may not be worth anything at all;

but may have some merit to a few...

Do you see how a friendly message board of parents, who all have the same

thing in common--special needs kids afflicted with a horrible, life altering

condition--can become shallow, petty, accusatory, incorrect, nasty and mean?

Isn't it just possible that an organization of people...doctors no

less...highly competetive, successful, intelligent people...who may have

started out as humble folks just trying to find answers for their own kids

(much like us, only with more insight), could become exactly what this thread

is turning our board into? Keep in mind that, although the initial motivator

for the docs was their kids, they also have MONEY on their side as a

motivator, too. Many wise people have dissussed what money can do to an

otherwise ethical person. Even the bible says, " For the love of money is the

root of all evil. " That doesn't make these docs evil people, it means some of

them have lost their focus. It makes them human.

Suppose we rise above that level of human and try to prove that the parents

really do know best and continue our use of enzymes...whichever brand we

choose, and do for eachother what this board was intended for...report,

discuss, question, and help. Isn't that what we want from our doctors?

Bashing, alienating, gossiping, and ostracizing is exactly what the docs have

done to some...which, by the way, is exactly what has been done to them by

the mainstream medical community!!!

Let's not continue this degradation of the human spirit...We have the best

motivation of all to stop this now...our kids need our efforts to be placed

on helping them, not hurting each other...Again, JMHO...
