Sorry for posting this here but could anyone suggest a replacement

for a purple colour in cp soap other than ultramarine mauve if there

is such a thing?

I would prefer a straight colour rather than mixing two colours.

I find using ultramarine mauve that you use lots of it to get any

sort of decent colour and even then it is not great but maybe the Eo

is changing the colour a bit. I have tried mixing D & C red 30 lake

with ultramarine blue but the colour is not great either, a bit murky

looking imo and as one is oil soluble and the other water they have

to go in seperately

Any suggestions greatly appreciated

Hi Pam

Have you tried Labcolors from www.thechemistrystore.com ?

They have one in their basic range that is said to be deep purple in cp

I have a really deep purple I use for lavender soap, I mix a bit of ultramarine

pink into ultramarine blue (dark), it doesn't take much to turn the deep blue

into a purple.
