Guest guest
I wanted to share with everyone the exciting 10K(6.2 miles)race that I ran on Sunday, the Rock Bridge Revenge. It was not a road race, but on a hilly, wet, muddy, slick nature trail. It rained the day before. There was also a 20K at the same time, but I'm not sure I can imagine running this course twice! I twisted my ankle once (but it is fine), banged my big toe (still hurts) on a tree root or rock I think. I had to cross a stream at about the 3 mile point in 1 ft deep water. It did help clean the mud I had accumulated on my shoes up to that point. I placed 2nd in my age group men 30-39. My time was much slower than my last 10K due to the rough terrain. The winning time was actually about the same as I ran my last 10K, but was more difficult. I did enjoy it and am actually looking forward to doing it again. There is a group of people that ran it ahead of time several times this year to prepare so I hope to do that next year. Who knows, maybe I'll decide to do 20K? There was a photographer taking pictures at the race. He got 4 pics of me which I have put up on a web page that I quickly created http://www.geocities.com/andyman68/rockbridgerevenge03.htm or the shorter version http://tinyurl.com/sp3j Does anyone here belong to any running or fitness groups with real live people? I belong to the Columbia Track Club which gets together almost every day of the week for different runs and they help organize many of the 5Ks, 10Ks, etc. There is also a group called the Columbia Multi-Sport Club which is for running, biking, and swimming which I plan to join after the first of the year. I may plan to get more serious about biking and swimming. Andy
Guest guest
Wow that sounds like quite an adventure! I hope your toe feels better soon... you know that surprises me that that's all that you banged up from your description of the course. I am so impressed with your 2nd place finish! *high fives* Jen B. > I wanted to share with everyone the exciting 10K(6.2 miles)race that > I ran on Sunday, the Rock Bridge Revenge.
