<<Actually, SSRIs kill off serotonin receptors (in an attempt to keep more

enough to explain. >>

** SSRIs don't " kill off " serotonin receptors. The brain kills them off

to keep you from being killed by the increase in circulating serotonin

caused by the SSRIs.

Subject: Liz-serotonin

Hi Liz,

" Here's a link to an article in our Files that explains it

a little bit--I'm sure will come up with a better article.

http://tinyurl.com/6byjp "

++Hi Kim,

the link didn't work. Got a 404.

" You will find a wealth of information about this subject in

Molecules of

Emotion - by Candace Pert, Ph.D. A brilliant neuroscientist who

was lab

chief for 13 years in the brain biochemistry section at the National

Institute of Mental Health/National Institute of Health, and is now

ridiculed for her brash honesty. You can probably pick up a used

copy for a

few dollars; look it up at www.addall.com to find the best used

price. "

+++I'll go check it out. Don't know if I'll be able to discern

it's message but I'll try.

Thanks for the info Kim.

Regards,

Ok, this is simple information I 'm looking for. I'm like on a

4th grade level of understanding. So we know that serotonin is

increased by the SSRI's and serotonin is already present

naturally in the brain, some just don't make as much as others so

we are given the drugs? If serotonin can't be measured, how does

anyone know this?
