Guest guest Posted November 5, 2006 Report Posted November 5, 2006 Does anybody have experience of Autonomic Dysreflexia? The patient has this condition caused by a spinal injury at T6. He has constant urinary infections for which I have given a range of herbs for UTI's but the symptoms have only dimished slightly. The infection around his supra-pubic catheter has reduced. The symptoms for both the AD and the UTI consist of sweating, spasm and pain although he differentiates by the location and instensity. I would like to treat the AD as an adjunct to the UTI to see if the AD is responsible for the symptoms he puts down to the UTI's as I beleive they may well be. The patient is distressed by the thought that he only has this level of pain and discomfort to look forward to for the rest of his life. Constant antobiotic therapy has failed to knock out the infections. I am concerned that to use CNS depressant herbs may not be a safe way to deal with this, especially long term. Any ideas or previous experience out there? MNIMH www.theherbalist.net Quote
