Guest guest
Welcome to the group , I am new too. I don't have TMJ (or any pain above my neck), but lots of people here have constant pain. Mine is back pain. I hope we can help each other. Dave E. wrote: > I have just been officially diagnosed with TMJ. Is there anyone > else who has this? The pain is constant and never goes away. The pain is constant and never goes away. Hello and welcome , I don't have TMJ but it's one of many of my joints which is hypermobile (I have Ehlers-Danlos syndrome). Whenever I go for dental treatment and checks we have to be careful with it. So I can relate to what you're going through. I have constant pain too. How did it happen that your TMJ became troublesome? Sometimes people can link it to dentistry, othertimes it happens because of the geography of that area on their bodies. Guest guest
Thanks for responding. It is actually comforting to read about others. I don't feel so alone. My family has been great, but don't want to burden them all the time. Look forward to helping each other.
Guest guest
I had Lyme disease this summer and it triggered the TMJ. I have had the pain since August but doctor's kept saying that Lyme can do funny things. Now that the symptoms of Lyme have cleared, I am left with the TMJ. I finally went to the Pain Clinic in Boston and have started treatment, but that was just last Friday. It has also been causing me to have migraines. I have been out of work since October 21. I am scheduled to go back next Wednesday, but am not sure if I can with the pain I am in most of the time. This Friday I have an appoimtment at the pain clinic and they actually teach you how to do accupressure on yourself. Not sure if that is same thing as accupuncture. It is nice to have other people to talk to. I am not familiar with Ehlers-Danlos syndrome. What is it? -- Siel wrote: > How did it happen that your TMJ became troublesome?
