Hi, hope everyone is doing much better today.

I have a question please. Do any of you have

Narrowing of the spine ?? If you had this did

you have surgery for it and did it help ??

Thank you

Heidi

Heidi,

My spine is being narrowed because of the inflammation in it, and it's my

understanding that surgery would not help my condition. Anti-inflamatories or

prednisone help more, as does valium, which relaxes the spine.

I don't know how similar your condition may be. If there were a surgery

that would get me out of this pain, I might just be willing.

Hope you find what you're looking for. There are some good spine institutes

in the country.

Hi Heidi,

If you are referring to what they call Spinal Stenosis, then yes. I was born

with a very skinny spine. Most people develop it with age. As far as I know,

there isn't anything they can do for it. You can only try to help the discs as

it progresses. If you want more info, just email, or look me up on Yahoo

Messenger as Watrq2.

I used to get migraines litterally all the time...3-4 a week. When I had a major

flare last year, of course I was put on high dose steroids along with all kinds

of other meds. I went migraine free for a long time....after I started taking

MTX I began to get headaches. I do get migraines still, but nothing like I use

to. I have had about 5 or so in that last year...

Are you taking folic acid? It is my understanding that anyone on MTX should also

be taking folic acid. It helps with the wide array of side effects from MTX. I

know it can make your stomach hurt. I felt a little bit ill in my stomach the

first time I took MTX but haven't had stomach issues since then. I was, however,

already on a prescription acid reducer thanks to the steroids. You should

definately talk to your doctor and/or pharmacy about what to do to minimize the

negative side effects of the MTX.

Good luck,

April
