Though it has not been identified and documented, antedoctal evidence suggest

emu oil is very positive for this ... and is definitely not negative.

How bad is it falling out, Sue? Mine goes through stages - sometimes I lose

very large clumps, and body hair wont grow. Then it all comes back just fine.

Ive been gray since I was 14, so Loreal takes care of that for me ;P

There is also an autoimmune condition that causes varying degrees of hair loss.

Hi Everyone,

Since I'm new to this Still's stuff and all, is hair loss part of it? My hair is

falling out and on top of that it's growing back grey! What's up with that?

It's not that bad, I've just noticed it coming out more than usual. Just

checking to see if I had more of it to look forward to. I'm fortunate that I'm

blond, so the grey coming in looks like highlights. Darnit, I'm getting a new

rash on back and I'm out of Benadryl. Oh well. I see the Oncologist on Tuesday

to see what the weird stuff is from my bone marrow tests. I lost the word I was

actually looking for there. That seems to happen all the time. I think either

the meds or the Still's causes Drain Bamage! LOL. My hands are locking up right

now, so much for typing anymore. I hope you are doing well.

Hi ,

I do lose extra hair when I'm ill, have had a trauma or have been on certain

arthritis medications. I don't think it's just particular to the Still's disease

though.

Best of luck,

Hi

When I first had my high fevers and was in the hospital for 14 days I

noticed the next couple of weeks my hair was coming out in large amounts and

then about 2 weeks after that my tub would not drain and my husband had to

take out a large hair clog and then it did not happen again once more a

couple weeks after that. My doctor felt it was from the 2 weeks of high

fevers and she said she could not think of any other reason for it and I

never could find anything on the internet.

If you are taking MTX your hair will fall out some, some people more than

others. I was joking the other day that I have not had to shave my legs in a

couple of months. Also if you are on Rituxan or Cytoxan your hair will come out.

MTX is a old chemotherapy drug, we don't take it in the high doses like they

give for cancer but we still get some of the side effects.

Steroids can cause some hair loss also.

As far as your brain goes, we just call it " brain fog " around my house.

Take care,

What's MTX? I'm not sure if I'm on that or not. I definitely get the " fog. "

Hi

I thought the same thing I was devastated I was losing all of my hair on top

of everything else. My mom is a beautician and she said she notices when

people are under a lot of stress that they lose a lot of hair and with this

illness how can we not be affected by stress especially a new diagnosis. My

mom loses her hair when her Thyroid is off also but I was tested negative

for thyroid problems so I know for me it was not that. I did start taking

vitamins but after that first month or so my hair stopped falling out in

large amounts and it never happened again.

Hi

I know you;ve had a few replies to your question about your hair. I started on

MTX almost 9 yrs ago and my hair suddenly went from being very thick-to very

thin and whispy. I used to get upset on looking down and seeing it when I got

out of the shower. I can say, for me it did improve. It has got a bit thicker

again, but not as thick as it used to be. Perhaps our bodies get used to the

drugs I dont know how it works. Mine was already going grey- so I cant comment

on that side of it-except to say I always have a hair colour handy in the house.

Hope things improve for you too, its all about learning

Love Joan
