Guest guest
Jan, I'm wondering if he might be having a flare up of diverticulitis with his history of it? That could cause the pain and the fever. Easy enough to test for if you know where to press, lower left hand side of the abdomen. > > Jim's temp. averages at 96, but he has been complaining about abdominal pain and back pain and his temp. tonight is 98 and for him that is a low grade fever. Normally, Jim does not run a fever even if he has a UTI. His blood pressure was elevated tonight at 130/80, which is unusal for him and the nurse said his blood test for clots, because he is on Coumadin, was at 3.6 and she said that was high. Jim has a lot of congestion, which is concerning me and I spoke to the DON (Director of Nursing) and the DON said Jim will be monitored and a UTI test was given to see if Jim has a UTI. At night Jim seems a lot worse; I took him to the dentist for teeth cleaning and out to lunch today and he ate all his lunch and did really well for the dentist and opened his mouth wide, which at times I can not get him to open his teeth to brush inside his mouth, so he did very well today, but this evening was a different story. So yes, I am seeing it happen. > > > > Fever > > > For the past four or five days, Mom has run a fever every evening. Tonight > it was 100.9 with one of those new temple thermometers.
