Guest guest
I have been taking Evening Primrose Oil for PMS for many years. I looked up the uses for EPO and found that it is suppost to help with pain as well. Has anyone tried this? I ran out about two weeks ago, but I intend to get some more and perhaps increase the dosage. Anything I can find I'll try. Hope everyone has better days. Guest guest
Norma, You might want to talk with your pharmacist. In addition to having to know about Rx meds, they also have to know about OTCs and herbals. They're aware of potential interactions, how muich is OK to take and how much is too much, and whether they actually do what they claim to do. I'm always wary of anything with " oil " in the name because it usually means just that, and do more damage to your cholesterol than good for what ails you. My pharmacist has been great about helping me with herbals. Hugs, Dix Norma wrote: I have been taking Evening Primrose Oil for PMS for many years. Guest guest
Norma I can't seem to find the book right now, but I remember from my pharmacology class that Evening Primrose interacts wiht a lot of drug and sometimes can have serious side effects... I am not trying to deter you, but run it by your doctor or pharmacist especially before increasing the dose... Bekkah
Guest guest
Norma, I take it everyday myself, as I know it helps with the PMS but did read that it helps with pain in general. Haven't noticed too big of a difference, but one additional bonus I have seen (which is why I continue to take it) is it seems to make my skin softer and smoother. Having normally dry skin anyway, this has given me some itch relief. Good Luck! Jan :-)
