Great News Ammey

Big Smiles for you.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I Have News!

Hi Everyone,I wrote a few days back about how my appointment went, that my neuro was sending me to see a MS specialist at UCLA. I called and they said they are booking appointments for January. Well, my sister attends a university and is getting her Masters in Occupational Therapy. They had a speaker one day on MS. He is an associate professor at USC's MS clinic and is involved in cutting edge research in MS as well. He gave her his business card and said I could contact him. I wrote him an e-mail this weekend, giving him all the details and today I got a response. He said <"It is my practice to treat folks with your problem rather aggressively, actually. I would advocate an induction with an immune suppressive and a platform therapy such as interferon or copaxone. If you are authorization to see Dr Geiser or the other UCLA docs, then you could probably get in sooner by calling in and revving your engines a little about vision loss, etc. I am a bit pressed myself in the next month due to hospital duties, but if you would like to call in and schedule, we will do our best to accomodate you."> I am so HAPPY! He made my day because I , as you know if you've been reading my posts, have been very worried about getting treatment for my recurring optic neuritis. I have a lot of damage to the optic nerve and need some help before I have more loss. I might see him sooner if my insurance will pay for it, but I will also call UCLA back to stir up some things...see if I can't get them to squeeze me in. I FINALLY feel like I am going to be ok. There is one thing I feel I cannot handle and that is to DO NOTHING about my eyes. I can't afford to NOT have Treatment so I am so greatful he gave the news I have been waiting for. HELP IS ON THE WAY! This is why it is soooo important for all of us in LIMBO to not lose faith that we will be taken care of. Thank you for listening to me ramble, I just had to tell you guys the good news! Thanks, Ammey

I am so happy for you Ammey, I'm in the middle of a bout with ON as we speak, saw the Dr. again today and he wants my neuro to start something like NOW. He said to call and come back in 2 weeks. I am definitely going to fight for my eyesight, I've got to rattle cages.

I'm delighted to hear about you, good luck.

Bette
