Guest guest
, You mentioned night sweats and low grade fever -- have your doctor run tests for tuberculosis. When I came down with EN, which eventually migrated into EI (erythema induratum), I was sent to the Infectious Disease clinic to rule out TB as the trigger for my EN/EI. Some symptoms of TB includes night sweats and low grade fevers. I also think my EN outbreaks are related to hormonal changes as both happened during hormonal changes -- 25 years apart. I reached this past remission after soaking my EN leg is cold water and using elastic stockings. Most likely the night sweats I had was associated with the infection [either viral or bacterial] that caused my high fevers, not the EN that came out randomly. One of the difficulties with EN is that it does tend to run it's course with or without meds, so it is hard to know if a treatment is helping or not. And of course there are over 100 known triggers and many associated illnesses, so what works for one may not help another. Perhaps the sweats are a clue to what is causing your EN. I hope you feel better soon!Love,http://poems2order. wordpress. com/Please enter Erythema Nodosum.........Thanks! I was seeing a specialist at UVA up until 2003 when I became pregnant with our first son. Up until that point I had tried every drug available finally settling on prednisone, which only worked some of the time. After my son was born we decided to continue having children and I haven't taken any prescription medication since. I've been looking for a more natural approach to healing and heard that shark liver oil has helped some EN sufferers stay in remission. The squalene and akylglycerols are the active ingredients. I just started taking it and noticed that my nodules started to go towards the purple end stage before they turn yellow and go away. It's just lately I've been having like you said "drenching" night sweats. I smell like I spent the day at the gym and so does my bed, so everyday I'm washing my sheets. I also notice a low grade fever, usually only at night time. I'm wondering if in your experience you've figured out what is causing this. It seems like because of the nodules my body had a really hard time regulating it temperature. Is that something you noticed? This flare is particularly bad (which is what seems to happen after each of my pregnancies) . I really think that my EN is somehow connected to my hormones. I got EN after receiving the Hepatitis B vaccine in high school. Any insight into these night sweats would be greatly appreciated. :-) Thank you.P.S. you may post this to the board, but I sent it to you because you're the first person to mention the night "drenches."
