I doubt it has anything to do with " liking " your question :-)

There is a very informative SSDI group on Yahoo. That would likely be a good

place to post your SSDI questions. There seem to be a couple of dozen good

Yahoo groups for every topic under the sun, and there are other SSDI type

groups, but this one is by far the largest. It is also the one I am most

familiar with and for the most part, they stay on topic. If you check it out, I

hope it proves to be helpful to you.

About the Topamax... I have bad muscle spasms to begin with and for

the Topamax to " help reduce my pain " they had me add 3x the amount of

muscle relaxers... It still wasn't worth the cloud it put me in.

The topamax and all the muscle relaxers made me so tired and cloudy!

This is interesting because this is EXACTLY what I will be discussing with the

neurologist on Tuesday - upping the muscle relaxers in order to better tolerate

the side effects of the Topamax. Might I ask how much Topamax you were on?

What muscle relaxer did you take?

Sorry it took me so long to get back to you... I had a surprise

visit to the hospital for a couple of days! Anyways I started on 25

mg of Topamax and they bumped me up to 50mg. I am not sure of the

logic, but they figured increasing the doses may make me feel

better. I was on Flexeril when they started me on Topamax, but since

there isn't much they can do so far as increasing the dose they put

me on Valium starting at 10mg, which was the dose I was on before,

every 8 hours and progressed me to 25 mg every 8 hours... When the

pharmacist refused to fill the rx for 30 mg every 8 hours, they took

me off of the Topamax!
