I mean, where's the drama? Or maybe if things are going well we don't need to hear about it so we can change it? Then again, there's that ego thing about security and wanting to know the worst so we can be prepared for it. Who has to or wants to prepare for the good stuff? Just let it happen. But then again, real prophecy is a lot different than simple gloom and doom. Let's hope the fascist trance falls apart as its leaders get caught up in the archetypes and embarrass themselves. In the Islamic world, that has happened to some degree, but political power is still in the hands of people who can do great damage before they fall under the weight of their own complexes and public outrage. In the US, the trance should start collapsing in time for the '08 election, even if a Republican is elected (the candidate would most likely be a moderate, not a religious panderer). China and North Korea may be a problem, though. There is no guarantee that a nuclear exchange won't happen, and if it does, it will make the entire planet insecure, leading to huge levels of post-traumatic stress and making real progress very difficult. The positive side of it would be a massive, synchronized display of concern for the future, an event which would make media spectacles like 911 and the Pope's death seem insignificant in comparison. It's only a question of how much damage has to be done in order to liberate the creative energy that is currently tied up in personal drama, entertainment and financial worries. __________________________________________________ Quote
Guest guest Posted April 20, 2005 Report Posted April 20, 2005 Dear , Many years ago I used to tell my adult underachieving students that a positive mindset would be a good way to start changing their future. Having just read your post, I would say, the old warning that what we fear most we bring to ourselves, attract to ourselves,is valid. I do not think your outlook is anything I would want to speculate on. Nuclear war? I am not at all sure I can foresee a positive side to that. Nor do I believe in the human destruction of this world. I do agree with Alice that there are no mistakes, and the world will have to watch what the millions of R.C. members have to put up with. The US will find it a rough going for the liberal catholic, and maybe there is where the next future turn around will be. As long as anyone still insists he has a special ear to the Divine, and only he knows the truth, millions are still in the soup...Many American Catholics are restive with this refrain. this, you said and I want not to agree: "It's only a question of how much damage has to be donein order to liberate the creative energy that iscurrently tied up in personal drama, entertainment andfinancial worries" "'It's only a question of how much damage has to be done" By whom and to whom, ? You may be right, we only learn from suffering and tragedy, but I still hope in the future. What is Is, so we will all have to accept it.But fear is not the way to a fruitful and good life. Negativity breeds fear, and we really have no clue to the future. has one thing right, I personally think; The pox on all religious organizations which cannot help but put their survival as an organization above the general good and the peace of millions.AS long as power is what each is thirsting for, for its own aggrandizement, a pox on it and them, from me too. It only took 200 years for one organization to highjack the spiritual beliefs of the early Christians, and codify them, concretize them as they changed them, in order that they could then call all those who didn't agree, heretics...to be everlastingly punished. In spite of this, I am not about to become a pessimist about the future....there is more in this cosmos than just us human beings bent on self destruction. At least I choose to think so. That is not the message I personally find in meditation and/or prayer. What happened to hope and trust?..or where should we place our hope and trust? In other men and their weapons or on a spiritual promise we can cooperate with? Someday, I would like to probe why so many people, not particularly you ,, take delight in prophesizing doom Toni new pope Greg says:>>But perhaps it is necessary for the new era to begin with this last gasp of shadow energy from theremaining vestages of the last one.<<--It seems like an inevitable consequence of millionsof people giving up autonomy in order to dissociatethemselves from guilt and responsibility. Guest guest Posted April 21, 2005 Report Posted April 21, 2005 --- > You're probably right that the shadow has to have > its last outburst before the Aquarian energy can get > a foothold. Let's hope the fascist trance falls > apart as its leaders get caught up in the archetypes > and embarrass themselves. Early signs are hopeful, but I smell Rat (no pun intended). Presenting one's self as a reconcilor and uniter is becoming familiar in politics...now we hear it on the religious front. Kind of like king W calling himself a " compassionate conservative " as he signs the bankrupcy bill into law that favors the already-enormous and highly profitable banks. I keep wondering if Jesus were walking among us today if he would really recognize his message from the mouths of the well-fed, well-healed, less taxed Republicans who love to spout their evangelistic orthodoxy, while the have nots steadily get the shaft. " Compassionate " is the oxy part of their moronic mantra that has come to symbolize Bush gross economic elitism in this country. Boulton is sent up as UN ambassador (a man who is firmly on record as one who would rather that institution not exist); And now, Tom Delay (who makes a much better exterminator than a Congressman IMO) wants to lecture the Supreme Court about ethics. What will they come up with next. And, as Alice has suggested, they are somehow very convincingly (to so many) able to red green and simply get away with it by their simple, brazen, lying assertions - time after time. The pot it is a boilin! But just wait until the new Rotwieler in the vatican takes hold. I'm watching with bemuzement and amazement as things heat up even more, wondering just how far the pendulum must swing to the already far in the direction of extreme of orthodoxy and economic privilege now so clearly in the ascendant. I'm guessing the mid year elections will be the first signal of the answer to that question. Greg __________________________________________________ Quote
