Guest guest
, Keep a close eye on this " cold " that you have. I started out with the same thing not this past Friday, but the one before. It started out the same way as you, itchy, then sore throat, plugged up ears. I felt bad the whole weekend, like I'd gargled with glass. I still wasnt' feeling up to par when I went back to work on Monday, but I was " okay " . On Wednesday, I started feeling bad again, and got sicker and sicker as the day wore on, and ended up leaving work early. By the next day I could barely get out of bed, and my hubby had to drive me to the doctor's office. That little " bug " I caught turned very nasty. I ended up with a sinus infection that had just started to spread into my left ear, a throat infection, an upper respiratory infection, and bronchitis. A lot of people where I work are getting it. They get a little sick, feel better for a few days, then it slams them bad. I was really, really sick, ended up missing 2 1/2 days of work, thankfully it was close to the weekend or I would have missed more. I just finished up my antibiotic today (5 days of Zithromax), and I'm feeling better than I did, but I'm still far from recovered. I talked to a lady at work today who came down with it a week before me, and she said that it takes about 2 weeks to fully get over it. The cough is the worst thing. There have been times that I've coughed so hard that I've gagged, and my ribs feel bruised....and I KNOW I've pulled a few muscles in my back and sides! Even though I'm done with the a/b, I'm still taking a cough med, antihistamine/decongestant combo, and bronchiodilator on a regular schedule. I hope, for your sake, that it just turns out to be a case of " change of weather " , but get right to the doctor if it seems to get worse, okay? Whatever this is that's going around, it comes on fast, and it hits hard. I hope you are feeling better soon! You have my sympathies hun! Much love, Jen PS...Check out your cold and flu section at the store. There are some meds that don't contain all of the stuff that NyQuil does. You might just have to buy separate products (a cough med, a decongestant/antihistimine) to get around the acetaminophen and alcohol. Guest guest
Dear , Sorry to hear you are feeling so yukky, be careful, there is alot of crap going around that does start as a cold. A friend of mine, who is very stubborn, thought he only had a cold, ended up with such pains in his side he could not walk, i brought him to the e.r. and he had walking pneumonia....so, just be careful and get well.....sending only happy thoughts your way.....hey, hot tea, lemon and honey is awesome for a cold.....hope you feel better in quick time...janine sqbear2@... wrote: Go fiqure, on top of my pain i have a cold today! UGH! I hate being sick. I had to call the pharmacist to find out if i can take Nyquil with my current meds. He said no cause of the amount of acetaminophen and alcohol in the Niquil plus the Norco is too much.
Guest guest
I'm right there with you, ...I always get sick when the seasons change too. So I'm toughing out the flu at the moment, and I hate it. Thanks to my crappy immune system, a virus that only lasts 3 days in most people takes a week or more to leave me. I usually just take the Nyquil at night anyway. When I get the flu, nothing helps the migraine so I don't waste my usual meds by taking them for nothing. But I can't take the soma at all with the Nyquil (well, I could but I'd be a drooling incoherent zombie LoL), so my neck is one big knot that burns and pulls painfully every time I sneeze. Someone pass the kleenex, please... Sniffled prayers that we both get better soon! Raven
Guest guest
I know, the flu bug and coughs have been going around. Mine lasted 2 weeks and 2 antibiotics as it turned into a sinus infection. My daughter had it for 4 weeks. Whooping cough is also going around here-an epidemic. GET WELL SOON!
