Guest guest
Thx for your response re inhalers/albuterol. Nice to know you haven't met resistance with albuterol. Just curious, what specifically did you mean by "If you overdo it you'll know it..cause that's when you'll run into trouble" with respect to overuse of albuterol? How will I know I've overdone it and what kind of trouble will I potentially run into Cassie Albuteral is a med to be used as our rescue inhaler..as I mentioned before. Some people tend to overuse their albut. They think everytime they become sob they need to take a hit off of it. Not so. That will lead to od'ng on the drug and cause heart palpitations..chest pains and the albut will stop working. We need to learn the dif between becoming SOB and having a bronchospasm or attack. I become SOB like the rest of you. Know your limits. Don't push yourself to the point of a bronchospasm. When I become SOB I stop..take a drink of cool water..and I purse lip breathe. . till my breathing regulates and I can recover. KEY: don't panic..focus on your breathing thru pursed lips..in thru the nose..try to regulate the breathing to the point you're slowing that panting down..out thru pursed lips..slowly slowly slowyl..Usually, for me, recovery time is about a minute or so..IF after that time I still feel quite SOB then I'll use my albut.. Guest guest
Again, I second Sandy's advice. The pursed lip exhale (inhale through your nose) really helps when you are short of breath. I learned this when I went through several sessions of pulmonary rehab. MarilynThe year's hottest artists on the red carpet at the Grammy Awards. AOL Music takes you there. Guest guest
Sandie, Pursed lip breathing – excellent explanation; and also of how people, even those who live w you, perceive that because you ‘look’ ok, you’re not really.... Not like you’re dying! (well, not that quickly, is all...). Joy -- -- " Wealth is nothing, position is nothing, fame is nothing. Who you become inside is everything.
