Which OH do I buy??? I've had an alcohol licence for many years Maggie.I assume you already applied to customs and Excise and got one. If not that's the first step. Upon application to customs and Excise they will send you a leaflet. Make sure it is the right one. Twice they sent me one for industrial alcohol. You need to keep a book and account for any alcohol you use with dates and what it was used for. In the early days a customs and excise inspector came and checked me out to see that I was bona fide. He can and will ask to see the tincture you have made. That was in the old days when few herbalists had alcohol licences, probably now they are happy not to inspect. If you move premises you will need to apply for a new licience The alcohol to get is organic fermented ethanol. It comes in a big steel blue drum which you can then keep in your dispensery. However if your house catches fire it could prove interesting.......... Keep away from iospropanol (that's meths without the purple pigment) Anne
