Guest guest
I'm having exactly the same problem. Have been trawling the suppliers and having no luck at present. Apparently milling the Boswellia to make capsules is a real problem as it is too sticky and mucks up their equipment. Will be watching for replies with bated breath as I really need this too but for an arthritis patient. Helen
Guest guest
I have had good results with Solgar Boswellia Capsules in the past with patients. They can be obtained from Solgar on the www.Tina.Alder.From: Helen Ellis To: ukherbal-list Sent: Monday, 14 November 2011, 14:50Subject: Re: Alternative to Boswelia for Ulcerative colitis I'm having exactly the same problem. Guest guest
Hi all,we were talking about treating pruiritis at the skin seminar, and it was suggested to use chickweed juice in a cream/ emulsifying ointment and then add 90% calendula tinc to preserve the juice. In a 60g jar how much calendula tinc do you think I would need to add - the alchohol may be abit irritating to an already inflammed skin, but I want to make sure it doesn't go mouldy.ThanksSally MNIMHDr. Sally Moorcroft The Natural Health Clinic, Pigeon Cote Farm, Stallingborough Grimsby, NE Lincolnshire DN41 8AJ www.thenaturalhealthclinic.info www.drsallymoorcroft.co.ukTo: ukherbal-list From: alnus@...Date: Mon, 14 Nov 2011 15:13:14 +0000Subject: Re: Re: Alternative to Boswelia for Ulcerative colitis I have had good results with Solgar Boswellia Capsules in the past with patients. Guest guest
Mediherb have done liquid formulations for some of their tablets - now that the tablets are no longer available here. I've been using their liquid Thyroco medicine. Maybe its worthwhile calling Balance Healthcare to check if they've done the same for their boswellia tablet. Guest guest
I use Avicenna's tincture of Boswelia. Herbs in a bottle also do it. I find it doesn't marry readily with other herbs in a tincture mix. Too much resin, it precipitates out. I therefore prescribe it on its own. A quick check on the web says Solgar, Veridian and BioCare plus other companies I don't know of are still selling capsules of Boswelia via Amazon.Would that be whilst stocks last? You could always stock up. Now that we cannot get hold of tablets anymore, any suggestions as to either other forms and suppliers of Boswelia or other herbs to use? Guest guest
Thanks for these replies. Herbs in a Bottle can make up Boswellia capsules of 65% boswellic acid extract at a reasonable cost so will probably try them. The Mediherb standard alternative is aimed more at musculo-skeltal inflammation but they came back to me from Australia with this useful suggestion for IBD using their tinctures - though I am not sure that it would work as well without Boswellia: Glycyrrhiza 1:1 High Grade Rehmannia 1:2 Matricaria 1:2 High Grade Centella 1:1 (this has anti-inflammatory activity and is also very good for promoting healing) Uncaria 1:2 Zingiber 1:2 You wouldn't use all of these herbs in a single formula but would choose the best ones for the patient. An example formula could be: Glycyrrhiza 1:1 High Grade 20 mL Matricaria 1:2 High Grade 30 mL Centella 1:1 40 mL Zingiber 1:2 10 mL Dosage: 7.5 mL twice daily Lloyd > > > ** > > > > > > I have had good results with Solgar Boswellia Capsules in the past with > > patients.
