Guest guest
hello Haskel I don't know what Joe does, but if I make tinctures with infusions/decoctions then I first make the infusion /decoction, allow it to cool, discard those herbs and use the liquid to dilute the alcohol with which I will make my tincture, using the remaining herb. So it's really a double maceration. Makes lovely tinctures regards > ** > > > Hi any herbalists out there making decocted tinctures? > > What is a decocted tincture? Guest guest
I frequently do this for root tinctures Haskel. Echinacea, withania etc. Especially if they have a water soluble constituent. I never asked Joe whether that was the method he used but presumed so. Zoe Medical Herbalist MNIMH CPP Dip. Phyt.
