Guest guest Posted June 13, 2006 Report Posted June 13, 2006 Be very careful of HALDOL or ATIVAN they put my dad into a vegatative state and will do the same for most LBD people. The hallucinations make them act out ( my dad ran away 3x to get away from them) He was quite strong and physical so the NH would call us in when he became aggressive and we had to calm him down until we found a dementia only NH which has been a blessing. The best medicine we found for halluciantions was SEROQUEL and he got it am, pm and nite and had a standing " as needed order " It must be given BEFORE the agitation sets in and it takes a while to find the right dose and timing . In the beginning, he was quite sleepy but adjusted after a while. REMEMBER when it comes to meds and LBD LESS IS BETTER !!
