Just know that acyclovir needs to be dose *5x a day*!! So if you can afford the Valacyclovir it would be more convenient. My son has been on both and they both worked effectively for him. As a matter of fact, acyclovir is what initially got his titers moving, not valtrex.Cheryl~Visit my webstore for anything you need related to autism - groceries, supps, therapy supplies, books, and more!http://astore. amazon.com/ grystai-20~Check out my blog: http://www.gryffins -tail.blogspot. com/My son was supposed to start taking Valtrex on friday but a trip to the pharmacy to fill the prescription today resulted in me being told our prescription plan won't cover it. When told they wanted over $400 for 60 tablets, I wanted to cry. My doctor said his second choice would be Zovirak or Zovirax but he doesn't know if it works as well. Also said he would prefer Valtrex over Acyclovir. So i went on the internet and found out that the official generic for Valtrex is Valacyclovir. I found it relatively cheap in Canada and am having the prescription filled. I was wondering if anyone has ever tried Valacyclovir instead of Valtrex with good results. I was told by the pharmacist that it is the same ingredients. ...never know if I can trust these people..... Becky Premios MTV 2008¡En exclusiva!
