Guest guest
One of the aides had to tell me a story about my mom during lunch today. This was a story from before her stay in the hospital for the biopsy. Mom was moving around a lot in her wheelchair, very restless and the aide asked her if she'd like to hold " the baby " and she handed her a doll. My mother said to her that it wasn't a baby, but a doll. The aide told her that it was a real baby... She left the room and when she returned to the dining room the doll was on the floor and she asked my mom why she dropped the baby. My mother told her it was a doll, if it was real it would have cried... LOL I told the aide that my mother is there - she's just behind a fog. The woman agreed and I also said that my mother probably thinks that the aides are the patients. LOL (Goes to show you one example of the difference between those with AD and LBD - those with AD believe those dolls are real babies...) ----- And have to tell you another one... Mom was having a bad day (this was about a month ago) and she wasn't talking or engaging with her sister at all. Her sister asked her if she knew her name and mom said " Fat stomach. " (My Aunt's weight is something that the two would kid around about back and forth their entire lives. It sounds mean - but trust me - it's a tease between two loving sisters. But it showed my aunt that mom was there...)
