Falls

Dear Hope and others,

We seem to be falling the same progression with our husbands...After this last

fall the ER doctor actually gave us a choice of admitting him..of course you

know what he chose..he still is aware of NH and does not want to go near

them...he had been in 2 rehab units from other falls and told us that he would

rather die than return to one....not easy on us...we have also had follow up

physical therapy at home...after another fall..He has automic low blood

pressure,bouts of incontinence and of course constipation,no appetite at times

and has lost weight....also has all the other conditions (memory loss etc) I am

having issues with prostrate medication now..he takes Proscar at night and is up

and down all night trying to pee...I am thinking of giving it to him in the AM

instead but will run it by general practitioner tomorrow..he is also getting

swelling in one leg..I have not graduated to a hospital bed yet or a

wheelchair..just brought up the discussion of depends etc..but do

not know how much sunk in.....

we got by the driving issue half year ago..and now have a handicapp placard for

him..i thought that taking away driving would be the worst but not liking the

diaper thing or the rest....meg
