I'm looking for a pendant or watch alert system that will notify me if Mom

falls and I don't hear her. I don't want it to call 911, just me. Does

anyone know of such a system they can recommend?

We used this co. It called whatever # you provide:

Lifeline

Lifeline can not only protect a life...it can preserve a cherished

way of life by giving seniors the confidence to continue living in

their own homes. A Lifeline medical alert costs little more than a

dollar a day, yet gives you peace of mind that is priceless.

I am on no mail right now, but I saw this, which was still in my mailbox,

and will tell all of you that I just got Life Alert. But, Don can't wear the

pendant, because he doesn't ring the portable doorbell we have used for years

when he always has angina. Under stress an LBD LO can't think of what to do.

So I am in the same quandery as Gladys. What will alert me all over the house?

I don't hear well, and don't know what to do for me to be alerted. Don fell

in his bedroom when he sat on the bed and took a nose dive. How that happened

I don't know. He received another bruise, but nothing is broken.

I would have laughed at what he was doing later if it hadn't been urgent to

get things under control.

He wanted to take a shower. I told him he would have to bathe himself

tonight. In a few minutes he called me, so I went to see what he needed. He

asked,

" How do you get the shower adjusted. " He was standing outside the shower with

the shower head in his hand just spraying the floor.

I scrambled for a few minutes, and got things under control, and it all

turned out fine. And now I bounce with laughter at my precious kid trying to

take

a shower.

Love you all,

Imogene

Gladys,

I used the baby monitor system. You can get them with batteries so you carry

one with you and leave one in the room. I hid Mom's when she wasn't there and

she didn't even know I had it on. And even on occasion when I was just to

tired, i could turn my end off for a bit so I could sleep..

They are easily availabel at any used baby place, (maybe Craigs list.) but make

sure it is the portable one.

That way our LOs don't have to remember to push anything and I could alway hear

what she was doing.

Hugs,

Donna R

Caregave for Mom (after I brought her from WI to MI) for 3 years and 4th year in

a nh.

She was almost 89 when she died in '02. No dx other than mine.

I didn't know until someone told me, that others can

hear on your baby monitor, too, if they are on the

same channel. Has anyone else hear this? Kind of

made me wonder about using one.

June,

Baby monitors are really walkie-talkie's so someone could hear on it if they are

in the right range. Probably next door as they aren't meant for long range. So

if you have a neighbor with a baby, maybe there would be some interference.

But I never talked over it and neither did Mom. It just allowed me to hear when

she was up and moving or packing. I never could make out her words that she

seemed to have going all the time.

I have never heard anyone else's on mine over a three year period, so I can't

believe it would be a big problem unless everything was just right for it.
