Guest guest Posted April 25, 2006 Report Posted April 25, 2006 Hi Treva, There are several things that could be the problem. I had three problems for me that caused cramping and also dull aching all the way down my leg and then also cold, cold feet. The cramping was a mineral deficiency specifcally magnesium. I was taking alot of calcium at the time and did not know you needed to take magnsium also and created an imbalance. Do you take minerals??? You could be deficient in those. Also the other problem I had was nerve related and my siatic was inflammed alot from chronic repetitive motions. Accunpuncture helped with this and I eventually learned how to massage my trigger points and now if I am sitting for too long and blood flow is restricted sometimes it flares back up and I can work those points and it goes away. Have you addressed any spine problems yet??? The other thing is circulation which has to do with your heart, and of course the spinal alignment. I took thing to help with my heart and circulation and now my cold feet problem is gone. I don't know if your problem could be any of these three things but perhaps it is. tswonderfulspirit2002 wrote: > Hi , > They do both cramp and hurt, below my knee's > > --- Quote
Guest guest Posted April 26, 2006 Report Posted April 26, 2006 Hi Kathy, The product I take for heart health is called Cardio Balance. It has Acerola Fruit for Vitamin C, but I heard they are changing to Australian Bush plum soon because the Vit C is so good, then it has Vit E.mixed D-ALpha, D-Beta, D-Delta,D=Gamma, it has Folate. B6, B12, Magnesium, L-Arginine, Herbal mix of Garlic, Grape Seed & Skin Extract,Hawthorne,Carambola, it has Trimethylglycine. ALA, N-Acetyl-L-Cysteine, Co-Q10 and Ambrocosanol Complex. It has worked really well for me. Guest guest Posted April 26, 2006 Report Posted April 26, 2006 Treva, It is almost certain that the majority of people are deficient in minerals. That has been established a long while ago through food samples and our modern diet. IF you are not taking any minerals that would be a really good place to start. You will not harm yourself taking a really good Multi every day, its highly recommended to supplement the diet. Without minerals vitamins cannot go to work in the body and so considering you are most likely deficient then all the vitamins you consume cannot be utilized. Remember the body needs many co-factors to make it work properly. Are you doing any supplements or special diets yet? tswonderfulspirit2002 wrote: > I take no minerals, or calcium how do I get it check? > > > > > > Quote
Guest guest Posted April 26, 2006 Report Posted April 26, 2006 This doesn't necessarily happen with a raw food diet, which is what I eat. My recent blood test showed no deficiencies and I no longer supplement with vitamins/minerals. If you eat cooked, processed foods you may continue to have problems with digestion and nutrient absorption. Guest guest Posted April 26, 2006 Report Posted April 26, 2006 Unfortunately most people will never be raw foodists, most will not even come close. People will not give up what satisfies their taste buds in order to be healthy. Its much easier to supplement and I am thankful we can have supplements for people like my kids who are not about to eat a raw food diet, or my husband whos teeth are so bad he cannot chew raw or hard foods, Its just not a reality for most people. Keep in mind also that even though the foods you eat have not been depleted by cooking, they still were grown in deficient soils and picked weeks before being ripe which is when the nutrients come into the foods. In some cases like with peaches you have to eat 53 of them to get the same amount of Vitamin A as you would 30- years ago. Some foods are not quite as bad, brocoli only needs 2x as much as 30 years ago , oranges 8x as much. Still that is an awful lot of food to consume for the average person. I don't know about the accuracy of the tests for some of these things but I have heard they are not that accurate. The only test that appears to be any good is called the serum ORAC PE. Most are still using the urine tests which are just not accurate meausres of your antioxidant protection. Just let your body be your guide it has all kinds of indicators when deficiencies start to show up, if you are aware and I know you are, you will pick them up. I for one will have to supplement cause my diet is just not good enough. Pugh wrote: > This doesn't necessarily happen with a raw food diet, which is what I > eat. Guest guest Posted April 26, 2006 Report Posted April 26, 2006 That's a good start Treva. You can get past the sugar addiction. tswonderfulspirit2002 wrote: Hi , I am only taking Juice + right now (someone talked my father into buying them for me) But, now multi-vit. I have begun to cut out red meat, and trying to elimante as much dairy...and the sugar(that is a hard one) but I'm doing ok on it, working really hard on it. --------------------------------- How low will we go? Guest guest Posted April 26, 2006 Report Posted April 26, 2006 Hi Tom, What Magnsium supplement do you use? I just bought some magnesium citrate and I have to make it in a tea first which I don;t always feel like doing so I have not been taking. Is your pill or capsule? Guest guest Posted April 26, 2006 Report Posted April 26, 2006 Hi Treva, Juice plus is a good antioxidant, but now you need the multi also to help it work. Just work on your diet slowly so you don't get sick. If you have candida then major changes too quickly will cause you to feel horrible. I made changes over a years times, replacing regular milk with Almond milk, sometimes we still use Organic Raw Milk, replacing regular bread with sprouted grain breads. The way I had to do it with my kids was to put the new healthy food in the old box, or container, this really helped them not notice as much. If they said this tastes weird, I just shrugged my shoulders. We still eat red meat but its grass fed organic buffalo mostly, and we don't eat that much of it. Just do the best you can and the changes in your health will encourage you to do more. tswonderfulspirit2002 wrote: > Hi , > I am only taking Juice + right now (someone talked my father into > buying them for me) But, now multi-vit. Guest guest Posted April 26, 2006 Report Posted April 26, 2006 I just bought a huge bottle of Magnesium Oxide from GNC. Was that a mistake? Guest guest Posted April 26, 2006 Report Posted April 26, 2006 Dear Jayme, Magnesium oxide is probably the least utilizable form of the mineral. Much better would be an amino acid chelate of magnesium. But may I suggest taking your magnesium in combination with calcium and other nutrients, because they all tend to work together as a team to promote health. The best such combination that I have found is a multivitamin/mineral formulation called Vital Force. Guest guest Posted April 26, 2006 Report Posted April 26, 2006 Dudley, I checked out Vital Force, and the price is very affordable. I'm planning to use up my existing vitamins/minerals and try this - unless I can find something even better, which at that price, I don't think I will. But I am shopping around. I'll be glad when this initial phase of treating MS becomes just routine! There's so much to learn. Thanks for the info, Jayme Re: Re: Legs Hurt during the night > > Dear Jayme, > > Magnesium oxide is probably the least utilizable form of the mineral. > Much better would be an amino acid chelate of magnesium. Guest guest Posted April 26, 2006 Report Posted April 26, 2006 Hi Tom, Can you tell me what the label says, are then any other ingredients??? The webiste offers no label description. Thanks. Guest guest Posted April 27, 2006 Report Posted April 27, 2006 Yes, Treva, Vital Force is a multivitamin/mineral formulation that contains calcium, magnesium, and most of the other vitamins and minerals that are important in human nutrition. Dudley http://profiles.yahoo.com/dudley_delany Quote
Guest guest Posted April 27, 2006 Report Posted April 27, 2006 Hi Treva, The one I take is from Mannatech, the one Dudley recommends is cheaper but I could not find the complete ingredient list so don't know what the quality is like. I normally don't take separate calcium and mag, but recently just started to take some extra magnesium at night. It works good but it has to be mixed with hot water which is not convenient for me especially heading into summer when I am not thinking about drinking hot liquids too much. I will possibly try the other one that Tom suggested if I can see the full ingredients first. For me the biggest thing I look for before buying anything is the companies standards. It does not much matter what claims they make or what they say is in the products or the price if everything is a lie. tswonderfulspirit2002 wrote: > Do you know of a good Multiple Vit.? Guest guest Posted April 27, 2006 Report Posted April 27, 2006 Thanks Tom, Sorry to be a pain but I have to know what I am going to order. I like to research all ingredients in products to see whats actually in them. I have researched some supplements that would just shock you, the UK has several companies that use stuff that should be listed on the bottle as poison in stead of health supplements.
