Re: Raiders fan

Well, Molly LOVES all things Bengals. From the time she was just a BABY she

would watch the games intently! (She did NOT get that from me. MY sport is

basketball and my TEAM is the University of KY Wildcats!). Now, during football

season, when we go in a store and all the Bengals wear is displayed, she goes

NUTS and wants, wants, wants! In fact, just yesterday morning she pulled her

Bengals cheerleader outfit out of the closet and wanted to wear it to church!

Had it been November, I would have been fine with that, but in June it's just a

wee bit warm outside to be wearing a long-sleeved dress -- although we HAVE been

having a bit of a cool stint with low humidity this past week or so.

LOL My " imaginary " husband hates the Cowboys with a passion. This past year

Garrett's Pop Warner team was the Cowboys. We wound up going to playoffs so we

had Cowboy stuff everywhere. I bought a Romo shirt because #9 was Garrett's

number. Then, on the back I sewed a patch over Romo's name and Ironed on letters

that said " Colvin's Mom " instead. Glenn had to get a Cowboy's hat to wear and he

cringed as he put it on. Yesterday, Tim had to haul hay for our doctor and I

told Glenn to give him a cap he could wear out in the heat, so he gave him the

cowboys hat and said he didn't care if Tim lost it or not! LOL

GM Kristy, way to go pick your team and join in. I learned when I was

a little girl its easier to join in or miss the TV during the FB

season...lol I have found it to be as entertaining as the soaps. I

have a friend in Indiana and we have a blast during the football

season. She is a colts fan. Time will tell. I cant wait for it to

start. I really enjoy having people over and cooking out when my

boyzzzz play. I even got Hailey her own little Cowboy jersey last

year. She is to cute in it. I even put on her talking device in the

sports part when she pushes the football it says Dallas Cowboys are

my team....My boyfriend thought it was funny. He is a Panther fan. Oh

well I need to write everyones name and team down so I can keep up

with whos turn it is to rib....lol big hugs and have a good day.

TOO FUNNY! Actually, your parents probably could have fought that and won. If

a school doesn't have a girls' version of a sport and a girl wants to play, they

have to at least let her try out. I've known of schools that had girls on the

boys' soccer team -- until the school formed a girls' team.

I can totally relate about the cheerleader thing. My first year in my current

job, I was the freshman cheerleading " coach. " (I'm overweight and NEVER COULD

do a cartwheel. Do you THINK that was the WRONG activity for me to be in charge

of?). Anyways, I remember having to hold up signs with a big " O " for offense

and a big " D " for defense to keep my girls on track. I decided to do that after

they did a cheer to " sack the quarterback " when OUR TEAM had the ball! LOL!

THANK GOD I only had to do that one year!

least I was on the field during games.... & I was the only Cheerleader who knew

brain-dead-not-knowin'-a-thing-about-football-cheerleaders wouldn't make fools

of themselves for doing the wrong cheers (like an offensive cheer when we were

on defense...). I was once thrown out of a game for yelling at the Refs for

making a bad call.....the coach even backed me up and I still got ejected...as a

cheerleader even! LOL

LOL ! That sounds like something I would do!! I don't have much concept

of football and I am constantly asking Garrett or Glenn to explain it to me.

Last year, when Garrett was playing, each time he came off the field I would ask

him questions about the rules and why there was a flag and things like that.

Finally he told me in his calmest most authoritative voice, to sit down and he

promised to answer all of my questions after the game was over! lol

oh come on now....no roof topped stadium.....frozen tundra.....football the way

it is meant to be played.....Lambeau Field.....it just doesn't get any

better .....LOL of course now with Farve gone I don't really expect we will get

very far this year, but it is great to watch!!

Hi , I was waiting on you....lol What a game last year. I knew

there had to be a giants fan out there that was gonna get there two

cents in sooner or later. lol.....I really hope we can pull it off

this year. I was so disappointed last year....we were so close.

Believe me I was the one with the crying towel last year. Oh well its

another year....and I hope our team can pull it off this year.. Time

will tell.

They won the Super Bowl! That's all that matters!!!! My kids had a Giants

day last year @ their school after they won. All the kids had to wear Giant

shirts if they wanted the day off!! My son was so proud to wear

Manning's jersey with the red and white colors the same winning uniform!!!

I have to second this thing, the SuperBowl was awesome......I can't believe that

the only UNdefeated team in the NFL lost their ONLY game and it had to be the

BIG ONE!! LOL (That would be something the Raiders would have done or better

yet....the Seahawks...) (My Dad is a Seahawk Fan....)

OK you can stop rubbing it in. That was a day of mourning for me. I

knew it was gonna be a tough game but I really didnt think we would

loose it. lol I was depressed for a long time over that. You all are

so funny. Im glad yall side tracked my mind for a little while. It

helps to talk about something I enjoy. But please give me a break

about that game. lol....I dont want to be reminded I was the one with

the crying towel...lol I hope we come out this year and just kick

butt. We did have a good year last year so I cant complain to much.

I only hope we aren't annoying some people! This whole football thread has

been a lot of fun; every day I sign on expecting it to have run it's last first

down...

[Oh! There's the connection: FIGHTING FOR DOWNS!!! Hmmm, now we need one of

these teams to adopt us and raise money with that slogan...]

....but then it just gets funnier, ejected cheerleaders and all. Christi's

sister was a h.s. cheerleader, but didn't know enough about the game to get

ejected. I watch the Giants to see Amani Toomer, from our legendary (Concord,

Calif.) De La Salle High School football team that holds the US record for

consecutive games won, where two of Christi's brothers wore #37 after their

favorite

Raider.

In this kind of mixed marriage, Christi and Austin will have a better

chance of supporting at least one team that's doing well. Unfortunately, it

probably won't be Oakland.

you out of all people know how my mind works and how if one thing is started

then that always dominos to something else! So....just wanting a tattoo was

never going to happen! LOL I am very glad for all the changes with our new logo

and new site! I think both are very great and we are working on making awareness

ribbon magnets. Now, here in America we all have those magnets on our cars.

However, our secretary, Twomey in Australia, thinks we are all crazy

wanting to put magnets on our cars, so we are also looking into refridgerator

magnets for those who do not want to start a new trend in their country! lol

Hopefully we will have them available soon!

Tell that the magnets are way better than the permanent stickers! They

transfer better from car to car LOL

Yeah, magnets SEEM like a good idea -- until the paint job on your car is

ruined. You have to keep moving them around to different spots, because the

moisture gets under there and does a number on the paint. It's not a problem if

you don't ever intend to sell your car or trade it in. :-)
