Pt of Vernal Equinox lines up w/first visible star of constellaton of Aq Jan 2012. Somehow many 'primitive' people were able to predict this. Fundies are literalizing it. Lots of people are studying it.It is the atmosphere of fear being spread consciously by people. If it were witchcraft or some esoteric religion, it would be the same. " If it is not MY religion it is wrong-: and worse, " since I cannot admit my shadow, i will place it squarely on your Muslim shoulders. " Don't you remember the propaganda of W.W.II ? those japanese were called every name in the book on posters and in papers.It was not their Shinto, or Buddhism. It was the fear of something that isn't familiar to me. In the 1950's I learned in international relations that the next big fight would be Muslim advances and Western retreats. I though that was crazy then. It is also the conviction that there is never enough to go around. We must get " ours " first, regardless.The perennial problem of " haves " against " havenots " I have not too much faith that mankind will change anytime soon. He is afraid, and in fear will strike at anything. He certainly isn't listening to his holy men, on either side. Power is too much of a temptation. I think we will lurch on as we always have, avoiding the cataclysm but not the smaller suffering. WE really are only going to change us, one person at a time. Hasn't every great philosopher always foreseen the coming Storm? over the ages? and yet we still survive.( just think of Rome in 409? Poland in 1939? Or the great plague of the Middle ages. can't be worse than those awful times, and we recovered. Hope, that is what we need another shot of. How do the heavens see that?
