Sandy, I keep praying for you so your pain will subside. Isn't it awful what we have to go thru but we keep plugging away. We're all with you.

Hi again all- Firstly to Lee-- Lee for goodness sake ONLY do what is right for you. I know family mean a lot , BUT they are and won't be there for you IF either, you, dad or mum take unwell during and post the funeral, and the travel etc. Your dear Uncle is gone now and I am sure if he was a fly on the wall he would be saying- "golly please leave Lee and family in peace- I wouldn,t want them to get more unwell because of ME"- your dad isn,t well, and your mum doesn,t understand-- YOU do-- you know honestly the best thing for you to do is something nice- something personal etc.Maybe get a nice wreath for uncle-- and a nice bouquet for family-- to arrive on day of funeral at the house--Maybe you could arrange for some small organisation to deliver some nice fresh fruit or sandwiches ( platter etc) for the family after the funeral--)I have done that from Q l,and - when I couldn,t be in Melb for a family funeral- all was most appreciated and was very personal touch.I also contacted the funeral parlor and sent a few lines to be read at the funeral--and a song that meant a lot to my aunt as well as to our family--Everyone was angry and hurt when I said I couldn,t get to it with my ill mum-- BUT on the day- they were greeted in the morning with a tasteful floral arrangement - when they got to the funeral there was our sheath of flowers for the coffin and a single rose for my aunts hubby and each of her kids-When they got home there was food-- so all went much nicer and didn,t cost any more than if we had gone down there.Oh and the music we chose was a surprise-- and when the minister spoke- family were surprised that we had done this as our personal gesture and definately were not forgotten etc. Inter flora and local florists can arrange all-- so can most funeral parlors as long as you know what you want up front-- saves a little money that way-- For the person who says they get worn out and achy because of smoke in halation-- guess there are many of us who suffer like this too.Mind you when I lived in the mountains in I loved the smell of burning leaves in autumn--BUT smoke- from fires etc would almost kill me- and like you when having difficulty breathing-- we use our muscles so hard- we wear out easily- and suffer pain- after. nice to see your posting too. Hugs to all.I still haven,t had my op-- surgeons worried and cannot decide whether to do here or send me to Brisbane--OH the wait,Went to my GP for more pain relief late yesterday afternoon, and he was horrified when he say the state of my hernia- size, shape etc.Very concerned-- He has asked me to go back in middle of the day next week so he will call the surgeon and then send me by ambulance same day-- SO maybe things will move-- Govt docs gave permission for extra pain relief-- to help me get through it-Also gave me sleeping pills JUST in case.I don,t like taking them they make me wake ill- would rather put tele on- or come to computer for another hour till I drop off to sleep- even if only for 2 hrs-- Bye again-- Sandy TConsumer Representative Central Area, Mental Health Clinical network.
