Guest guest
I tried taking boron tablets internally about a year ago for my arthritis. Shortly afterward my hairdresser found a bare patch on my head. I'm 62 years old and (knock on wood) very thick hair that I'm not anxious to give up. Since boron was the only different thing I was doing, so I discontinued it. The hair grew back. A few weeks ago I decided to give it a try again. Another bare patch in the same place. Yikes! I'm considering trying it transdermally after the bare patch is gone. Sure would be nice if the boron helped my arthritis. I already have a total knee replacement from arthritis damage, my back is a mess (arthritis-spinal stenosis) and I'm not anxious to have to do other surgeries. Has anyone else experienced hair loss? I also have been eliminating sugar and white flour from my diet since last September. My arthritis has improved some, but I was sure hoping the boron would help. Guest guest
Yes, I do take a D supplement. Think it is D-3. I've been taking it for several years. None of my recent tests show any " D " deficiency. Sure is strange that hair loss started when I was taking boron, went away when I stopped, then back again when I started taking boron again. Guest guest
Here's one speculative thought about that ... Boron & borax are said to eliminate mold & fungus from the body ~ perhaps your body is using this particular elimination route for the toxins that boron is addressing? I have read that people with bald spots sometimes find a " cure " for their baldness when they apply anti-fungal type of things like organic apple cider vinegar (which I believe I've read has a decent amount of boron in it as do apples) I would be curios if a topical application of diluted organic ACV or coconut oil (some type of antibacterial/antifungal type of thing) on your scalp would help with limiting the hair loss. Or if perhaps the hair loss is temporary while your body is eliminating whatever boron is addressing. Another thought that comes to mind is hormone levels. Boron is known to regulate hormone levels though I wonder if in the initial stages things get more stirred up before they settle down. Oh heck, I just did a google search for 'boron bald spot' and there was a result from Earth Clinic in the hair loss section: " 01/16/2012: Ted from Bangkok, Thailand replies: " What I know is cortisone may have delayed some of the hair loss and some fungus infection set in before the cortisone, that's my guess. Most hormone treatments if done right, not in excess, actually increase hair growth, such as growth hormones, cortisone, estrogen (cellular proliferation which also encourages cancer too), and others. Most of the areas of the scalp are usually fungus, and there are two methods I employ, if it is severe then I would just kill it, with tea tree, or lavender, and others, but in case the body's immune system is down, well that's too much sugar intake, and deficiencies, usually from the niacinamide deficiency, and lack of hormones. Boron (borax) will increase the hormones across the board and it also is anti fungal. I will used borax and niacinamide paste to apply, mostly is like 90% niacinamide B3 and 10% borax, and apply as a wet paste (moisten with water), it will address both fungus and deficiency issues on the scalp. B3 niacinamide is taken internally also and is known to reduce anxiety and stress also, not just fungus issue. If anemia is indicated, then the blood stream has lots of fungus which will usually clear up with a 3% H2O2 one capful in one liter of water as a drinking water. As always, the hardest remedy to resolve for me is always the hair loss, the reason why has a lot to do with many minerals are involved, hormones, and especially the anemia problem. Now in case of hair loss fungus eats blood cells and may be defeated with hydrogen peroxide in drinking water. Ted " To access that information go to this link: http://www.earthclinic.com/CURES/hair_loss_questions.html and if you are using Safari you can use the tab " Edit " then " Find " and type boron in the little box that comes up in the upper right hand side. The screen will darken and every place that the word boron is used will be highlighted. > > Yes, I do take a D supplement. Think it is D-3. I've been taking it for several years. Guest guest
Do you not think it is from taking too much Boron? From instructions i have read in using the laundry borax/boron, one only wets the first segment of the index finger, dip in the boron powder, shake excess then lick followed by water. I think the 12mg is a lot. Never tried it, but this is the safest way they say to take Boron. > > Yes, I do take a D supplement. Think it is D-3. I've been taking it for several years.
