Guest guest
Jayne, I agree. GROSS. My MIL is really good at taking her teeth out while sitting in the living room, wherever she might be (or at least she was. I think she's past even thinking about that anymore) anyway, the only thing we found that sort of helped was to use fixodent or something to glue those puppies in her mouth. Made it harder for her to get them out. Guest guest
Hi Jayn, After a while, the teeth on the table will bother you much less than other problems. After the wild roller coaster ride we've been on, I'm just glad my dad knows what to do with a plate of food and a fork again and that his gums aren't so swollen that he can't wear his dentures or eat. My dad takes his teeth out at the table frequently. If something is hard to chew, he'll take the food AND dentures out and try to make the dentures chew the food or press food on the dentures and try to take a bite of that. He's always puzzled that this perfectly logical plan doesn't work. Sometimes he takes them out and cleans them his self or he may had the food encrusted dentures to someone at the table to clean. Once cleaned he pops them back in, gives an approving nod and resumes his feast happily and we are just happy that he's happy and the gross stuff isn't so gross. I can't say that he doesn't know what he's doing because he'll put on a real show with the dentures sometimes and we know he's getting a kick out of being gross just like he gets a kick out of a well paced farting sequence. But his inhibitions are down for the most part and Lewy doesn't give a hoot about proper manners.
