Thanks so much! Jeff Institute on Person-Centered Practices Hosts Training The Institute on Person Centered Practices is hosting a four-day training event, August 8-11, at the College Station Conference Center. The Institute is a collaborative effort between the Center on Disability and Development at Texas A & M University and the Center on Disability Studies at the University of Texas. The training is intended for family members, self-advocates, service providers, service coordinators and professionals in the disability field. The two sessions are Session 1: Person Centered Thinking Training amd Session 2: Plan Facilitation. The first session offers skills that help people get better lives, not just better plans. In this activity based two-day course, participants learn how use key tools to gather information that support people with disabilities to live valued lives in their community. The second session takes the skills participants developed in Person Centered Thinking Training and applies the tools to a practical planning process. Information recording through these tools leads to the development of a Person Centered Description which creates a foundation to develop Person Directed Plans. To register for the training, visit www.pcpinstitute.org. Early Bird Registation ends July 15th!
