Dr. Mac has an excellent program called Communicating Partners. This

program is for language development. It is very similar to the program I used

when Tim was young. I highly recommend it if you are in the Washington DC area,

you should definately go!

For those of you in the metro Washington, DC area, early registration ends on

Wednesday September 12 for our seminar with Dr. . D. Mac on September

29. Dr. Mac, Professor emeritus in Communication Disorders and

Developmental Disabilities at the Ohio State University, has been researching,

teaching and developing evidence based programs for communication disorders and

delays for over 30 years (see www.communicatingpartners.com). Come to hear and

see how over 1000 parents and professionals have helped children become (1)

Interactive (2) Nonverbally communicative (3) Verbal (4) Conversational and (5)

Civil and socially appropriate. Help a child communicate and socialize more

maturely and effectively through the use of language as a tool for

relationships. This workshop is for any parent or professional committed to

“late-talking children” or ones with AUTISM, DOWN SYNDROME, ASPERGERS, APRAXIA

OR OTHER “LATE-TALKING CONDITIONS”.

You will learn how to:

Use the ARM to assess, design and evaluate programs tailored to each child.

Help children become interactive in play, imitation and turn-taking.

Help children develop strong non-vocal communication with sounds.

Help children learn language more for daily communication than for academics.

Help children learn conversations for friendships.

Help children become more civil and socially appropriate.

Use five responsive strategies proven to help children communicate.

Make a child’s home the most effective place to learn to communicate.
