My husband and son and I are planning to attend. Sounds like a great program. Here's a little info on it and you can get more at www.med.umn.edu/cald/events.html On Saturday, June 3rd, 2006 the University of Minnesota will hold its second annual " Minnesota Pulmonary Fibrosis and Interstitial Lung Disease Education Day. " This seminar for patients, families, and healthcare professionals will be held at the McNamara Alumni Center in Minneapolis, MN. The University of Minnesota's Center for Advanced Lung Disease will offer this education day to patients and their families free of charge, with the help of several generous sponsors. The Minnesota Pulmonary Fibrosis and Interstitial Lung Disease Education Day will feature faculty from the University of Minnesota's Interstitial Lung Disease Clinic, led by Tim Whelan, MD, Assistant Professor and Director of the University's Interstitial Lung Disease Program. Dr. Whelan will serve as host and emcee for the event, as well as give a presentation entitled " Current Research and Clinical Trials for Pulmonary Fibrosis & Interstitial Lung Disease. " Guest speaker Brown, MD, Acting head of the pulmonary Division at the National Jewish Medical and Research Center will give a presentation entitled " Overview of Pulmonary Fibrosis & Interstitial Lung Disease. " Also speaking will be: Margret Schmidke, LSW on " Caregivers Need Support Too; " Ed Corazalla, MS, RPFT on " Oxygen and Respiratory Therapy; " Marshall Hertz, MD on " Lung Transplantation for Pulmonary Fibrosis & ILD; " Mark Shreve from the Coalition for Pulmonary Fibrosis on " Pulmonary Fibrosis Advocacy and Patient Resources; " a Respiratory Therapist (TBN) on " Exercise and Pulmonary Rehabilitation " Hyun Kim, MD on " Genetics, Genomics and Proteomics; " and Diane Bearman, PhD, LP, Health Psychologist on " Anxiety and Pulmonary Disease.
