Guest guest
I get so frustrated hearing about all the people that are treated like stupid fools.. me included.... we live in our bodies 24/7. We've been through good times and bad.. we experience our reactions to the stimulus that we're exposed to... c'mon.. give us a break.. who know better? I admit there are times when an outside opinion, experience, view point is needed.. and that is one of the reasons that we go to a doctor... that is what he is paid for.. to help us to care for the bodies that we live in.. he is not a god or a ruler or the almighty.. he, or she, is a person that works a job that happened to take a bit more training than most other jobs... Some docs are really into what they do.. get really involved and are really good at what they do.. they deserve to be honored for their compassion, caring and expertise.. but the percentage of docs that think they deserve some special pedestal and have the right to tell us to shut up because they had the training and we only suffer the errors of their trials and games is so vastly huge... If only there were a way to truly review a doctor or clinic or hospital so that you could tell at a glance if the level of care, the areas of expertise, etc. were within the limits that each individual finds acceptable..... *sigh* wouldn't that be just wonderful? Guest guest
"Because you ASKED for it"????------My, doctor, you really need treatment for that mental problem you've got. Oh, no, you have NO physical problems doctor, it's just your nerves darling. Here------have a bottle of tranquilizers. Or maybe it's ALL your fault doctor. By golly, doc, I do believe it's ALL in your head! Here, take two aspirin and call me in the morning. If you're lucky, you MIGHT get my answering machine.----------Really, Bob, it could be doctoritis-----major brain damage! [The_Thyroid_Suppor! t_Group] Re:Fired my Doctor One thing that I have found is that if you request a specific medicine for anything, the docs will suspect that you have ulterior motives for requesting it. I had that happen before at my last doctor's office. Anyways, they refused to give me what I knew worked because it is a narcotic, and I requested it! I requested it only because I knew that it worked while other stuff didn't. Doctors need to take some classes on bedside manner.Robin

Guest guest
I think you were saying that it would be nice if the doctors were all really good and respected us as intelligent people. But I have been waiting for that day all my life. Most of them talk down to us, nd I can't stand them. And to pay them for such abuse is such blasphemy! I REALLY get so angry, I am better off (and they are better off) if I just "fuh-get about it." --sue d. topper2@... wrote: what do you mean? Guest guest
Sue, Okay, gotcha! My endo was awesome.. we spent the beginning of every visit talking about how I was feeling and what I'd been up to.... she even asked to see pics of my garden and greenhouse and followed progress on that while we talked.. she teased that it was a great way to monitor my activity level by watching about much I accomplished during each 2 week period between our visits... .... the other docs.. well.. I'm not going there.. we all know the horror stories about incompetent docs and their blindness to everything but that one lab number.....
