I currently bought the Glucometer Elite XL which has a port that allows you

to upload your bg's into a pc (unfortunately not available for the mac).

You can download the software, WinGlucofacts, ($50.00 value on disk or

CD-ROM) from Bayer's website for free:

http://www.glucometerelitexl.com/orderfrm.htm

It's too bad that these companies charge you for these " extras " . I realize

that with improved technologies there are costs involved. But you would

think, that, diabetes being a billion dollars a year plus industry, they

would include, or offer the cable ($30.00) to you at a discount or for free

- particularly if your insurance doesn't cover any of these " extras " .

I haven't bought the cable yet. I just enter my readings in MS Excel or

Cricket Graph on the Mac for my own analyses and graphs.

It looks very nice. You can check out some screen shots on Bayer's website at:

http://www.glucometerelitexl.com/screens.asp

It's just that, at this point in time, I refuse to buy the cable at $30.00

plus S/H. I may, in the future, change my mind. I have enough out of pocket

expense paying for strips. The reason I bought the Elite XL was because of

its better memory and storage of bg's than the Elite.

If you're asking about charts in general, they're just regular pie, line or

bar graphs, etc. Plus I can have excel or cricket graph do some statistics

for me like average, max or min bg's, and so forth.

I agree.. Unless I need to do some scientific analyst, then why I had to

fork out

more money when other source is available..

I called this morning and the Kari, the service rep said, " Sorry, we don't

have any kind of program in place at this time to offer you a cable. " I

explained to her that my medical / prescription plan doesn't cover the

strips, lancets, etc. I use for my Glucometer Elite and Elite XL. Also,

that testing up to three times a day gets very costly. She said she

understands but unfortunately, no can do. She also said that I could save a

lot of money by downloading their software, WinGlucofacts from their

website for free. I said I already have but don't use it because I don't

have the cable.

It's too bad that Bayer turns its back on the little guys just when you

need them.

Matter of principle.

As far as accuracy goes, so far it has been right on. My last A1C was 6.3

(yipee!) and it coincided with the average results from my Complete.

Probably opens only with Accutility. Sorry. I'll try to figure some way of

They have this new comfort curve strip that pulls the blood into it so you

need only a tiny drop, they're great :0

It sure does, I just finished trying them out and they work good although

they require quite a lot of blood compared to Glucometer Elite or FastTake.

The accuracy is excellent too.
