Hello CAT community.  Below is information about a Dance Therapy supervision group I will be facilitating beginning this January at The Institute for the Arts in Psychotherapy.  If you are interested in joining please contact me directly for dates.  Additionally if you know of anyone who might be interested please feel free to share the information with them.  Thanks and take good care.  Cara

Dance Movement Therapy

Supervision GroupForming January 2012

 

The supervision group helps fulfill the BC-DMT supervision requirement; in addition to providing support the therapist’s growth and development in the field of Dance Movement Therapy.

 The group will utilize movement, discussion and other relevant modalities to process and further understand clinical material.  

 The group will meet two evenings a month at the Institute for the Arts in Psychotherapy in Chelsea, NYC.

Rate per session is $50 and group members pay for their place in the group.

 More about the group leader:

Cara Aubrey Gallo studied Dance Movement Therapy at Pratt Institute.  She is a Board Certified Dance/Movement Therapist, Licensed Creative Arts Therapist and President of the NYS Chapter of the American Dance Therapy Association.  She has been practicing in the field since 2004.  Additionally, she has extensive training and experience in the practice of Authentic Movement.  Following her Master’s Degree training at Pratt Institute she began to work at Bellevue Hospital Center.  During her tenure there her area of specialization was child, adolescent and adult psychiatry.  While there she worked with a wide range of clients suffering from depression, anxiety, PTSD, bi-polar disorder, schizophrenia, attachment disorders and autism spectrum disorder.
