Guest guest
I was put on Neurontin for the meralgia parthetica. I went to 5 different neurologist before i found out what it was. He gave me neurontin for it. The MP is a pinched nerve coming out of my pelvic area. My right thigh has been numb for the last 13 years. And finally found out what it is. I take neurontin 3 times a day and ultracet 2, 4 times a day. They say the neurontin is for, like my leg is haveing seizures, when it's tingling and sometimes it's hot, but mostly cold. Sorry for rambling.... Huggs, ~ NEURONTIN~ Again Hi & All, I was also put on Neurontin for pain control. At first it worked, I thought I had hit the Gold Mine. Then things started happening. I was doubled on it to see if it would help again. Things got worse. During this time frame I got very depressed and withdrew as all of you know. I also started having mini strokes regularly. Blacking out and falling a LOT! Now I have the numbness in my left arm that will be checked with the EMG later this AM. Still I never associated it with the Nuerontin. I also gained about 20 lbs.. When all here first started talking about it and I was getting some insight to this I told my Doctor I wanted off of it and he agreed. Wonder if we could get in on that law-suit? Love & God Bless! Guest guest
It has helped me too. I sleep better at night (that's only time I take it). I think it has also helped with heat waves that I occasionally experienced. ) ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ Earth is my home and animals are my family. My doctors had tried me on all kinds of drugs, and they all had adverse effects. I was tired of trying new drugs, all I wanted was pain-killers because I knew THEY worked. So I took my first Neurontin before going to bed and woke up feeling like I hadn't felt in years. I was more alert, and the pain was (relatively) gone! I hadn't realized how much pain I'd been in until taking the Neurontin. I still need some pain-killers, but nothing like I was taking before. Once I ran out of the Neurontin, and after 24 hours I felt like I was going to die--it was like a bad case of the flu. I was working at the time, and one of my co-workers had MS and Neurontin was one of her meds. She had some with her and gave me some, and my symptoms went away. Now I see those commercials on tv about lawsuits against the makers of Neurontin, and it really makes me angry. Maybe it doesn't help everyone, but it made a huge difference in my life. I'm also BiPolar with Severe Depression, and my co-workers noticed I was more outgoing and friendly. For the first time I actually was open to going out and doing things with other people, something I never ever did before. It has been of tremendous benefit to me psychologically. If Neurontin ever needed a spokesperson, I'd be one of the first people to sign up. It HAS helped me tremendously, and I haven't experienced any bad side effects from it at all. I know everyone is different and has different reactions to meds, but I've found that for me it's had several beneficial effects. If they ever took it off the market, I don't know what I'd do. cyn
Guest guest
You mentioned " heat waves " that you are experiencing. Are those from the fibro or your medicine. I've been having something like that also. At first I thought it might be hot flashes from maybe the beginning of menopause but gyno says I'm not going through that yet. First time I had seen anyone mention the heat wave and it caught my attention Thanks > I know I've written about Neurontin before, but it was a real life-saver > for me. Guest guest
I too get these " heat waves " . From what I hear they are fairly common amongst us Fibromites. I attribute mine solely to the condition not the medicine. Penny UK On 18/07/2004 05:00:38, fibromyalgia_support_group wrote: > You mentioned " heat waves " that you are experiencing.
