Guest guest Report post Posted May 23, 2002 helloooooo deb! welcome to the group. after you get your basic workout down and move onto advanced, billy might start telling you to put some oompf behind those punches and kicks... in one video (i think it is AL2) he runs around the room yelling 'im your attacker! im your attacker!' and getting people to kick him with some power. also the pushups he does as part of warmup help with strength, along with him yelling 'pull! pull!' when doing knee raises. dont worry, it will come with time as you progress. congrats on your career as a vet assistant! i have always wished that i had gotten into that field.... maybe i still will some day. i thought it was funny when i took one of my big dogs (newfie/lab) into have his ears cleaned out (yuck! the poor fellow...long story) and i wasnt able to hold him steadily for the vet. he called in this little girl to help and i had to laugh at myself because because she got a grip on the big furry guy and didnt let go! maybe they should include taebo as part of a vet assist's training i dont think id have a problem holding the big brute down now... heh heh. sadly he is not with me any longer but i now have another big pup to wrestle with instead (white shepherd). *~*~*~*~* Carolyn in ONT Canada RE: >My biggest problem is that I need strength! Guest guest Report post Posted May 29, 2002 I love being a vet assistant. Unfortunately we make no money but I get lots of kisses every day. There is a trick to holding a dog and I do it pretty well most of the time. My biggest problem is cats. You can have a good hold on a cat and they will squirm around and nail you every time. Guest guest Report post Posted May 29, 2002 I haven't been doing well well at tae-bo - just can't seem to get my big butt out of the bed early in the am. One of my doctors is doing it too and we are going to try to encourage each other. She said she's gonna kick my butt if I'm a slacker! Guest guest Report post Posted May 29, 2002 oh good deb! i really does help to have a real-life person supporting you. exercising is the hardest at the beginning.... but im here to say that once you get going it is alot easier.... maybe there is a better time for you to exercise than early in the morning? when i used to work out of the home, i exercised at 530pm every day... there was no way i could get up early and then make it to work on time. if you do wake up in the morning in time to exercise but just cant get motivated to put your exercise gear on and push play, then maybe you could try wearing your workout gear to bed! ive done that a few times also have the taped loaded in the vcr and all queued up, ready to go... have your water bottle ready in the fridge -- if you dont sleep in your gear, then have it all laid out ready to put on too. keep trying to exercise... it doesnt matter what time of day you do it... just do it!!! i know you can... you are such a strong person in many other ways! also perhaps a little reward might motivate you.... NOT FOOD... lol... but perhaps a new pair of workout shoes or something like that. *~*~*~*~* Carolyn in ONT Canada RE: > I haven't been doing well well at tae-bo - just can't seem to > get my big butt out of the bed early in the am. Guest guest Report post Posted September 19, 2011 A Big Hello, Nina, It is frustrating having to deal with these doctors it makes you wonder if any of the really know what they're doing. For me the doctors I'm dealing with are specialists ( endocrinologists ) and the first one I saw didn't even tell me I had the disease and the second one who also saw the test results didn't tell me that the test was previously done 6 years ago and the worst of it is when I saw a doctor back in the late 90s also saw a problem but never tested me for the disease she ( she was just an MD ) just gave me a prescription for a synthetic T4 which made me sick ( it was toooo strong ) so I never took it again until October of 2010. After all that I just became angry at these doctors. I also read about 3 books on the subject and sometimes I think I know more about it that those idiots who got a degree. Since your new I have a web site I go to that can help you with your blood testing http://labtestsonline.org/ this web site will give you information about the blood testing that the doctors give you. and the books I have read are http://thyroidbook.com/ ISBN# 978-1-60037-670-2 the next book is ISBN#978-0-345-49662-1 and ISBN#1-58062-777-3 I bought them at Amazon.com so if you copy the ISBN# and paste it to their search engine the book woll pop up. My favorite book is the first one the second book was written by the doctor who teaches endocrinology ( www.texasthyroidinstitute.com ). I hope you'll be able to find some answers to your questions and I'll help as best as I can. Your not alone. Many women have this horrible autoimmune disorder and just to let you know doctors DO NOT treat Hashimoto's they treat the thyroid. Stay Healthy Edith To: Thyroiditis Sent: Wednesday, September 7, 2011 12:46 PMSubject: Re: Hello Hi Edith, I just joined this group and was diagnosed a little over a week ago and trust me when I say I share your frustration!!! I had symptoms of Hashi's 7 years ago and they all said that my fatigue and weight gain was because of bad diet and no exercise, although I was running every other day and ate all natural foods. I didn't know what tests I had to take, and to be honest, I didn't know I had to supervise my doctor who was supposed to know what she was doing. I'm hoping to find some support here because although millions of americans have this, apparently it's undiagnosed. I wonder what doctors think about that.Nina>> Hello All, > I’m Edith a newbie here and I was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s in 2006 and I was told about it January of this year. I am having A LOT of problems dealing with this because my doctor in 06 wasn’t the caring doctor I believed him to be and never told me what kind of blood test I was getting and never told me the results. So my gland wasn’t getting treated until now. > The other reason why I’m having problems with this is I believe that my mother also had this disorder but was never diagnosed and now she has RA ( it’s in her spine ) because of the hashimoto’s. I do not want to be like her.> This is so hard for me. I want treatment for this hashimoto’s not the gland, treat the cause not the symptom it’s logical, but these doctor’s refuse to even try to treat hashimoto’s. I hate them all. Now I might have Psoriasis which can be caused by hashimoto’s among many other diseases. My body is attacking me, my immune system is running wild and everywhere I look I see immune boosters and I need an immune suppressor. The only good thing out of this is I rarely get sick, big whoop> I am so angry at these doctors I don’t even want to take this synthetic T4 crap and since the dosage it low I just might stop I wasn’t on anything before and my TSH was normal.> I’m sorry I dumped on you guys but like I said I’m having a hard time and I have no one to talk to.> Stay Healthy Everyone> Edith>
