Guest guest
That is absolutely correct, . Some doctors will tell you that you are a " borderline " diabetic... There is no such critter. If you aren't using insulin properly and your bg is too high, you are diabetic. It might not have reached the point where you can't control it, but it'll get there if you don't take control over it now. And up til now, it can't be cured. You can take meds that might keep it in normal levels or you might be able to keep it good with diet and exercise - thats not a cure - that's good control. What Kassie was wondering about is that in the hospital her bg tested over 400. (they kept her overnight for some abdominal pain she was having) but in the morning it was in a normal range, and when she went to the doctor for a followup it was in a normal range. Lab tests have been known to be wrong... but she is going for a gtt and should find out more from that. Guest guest
Hi All, Had my glucose tolerance test yesterday. They had me scheduled for 9am, but didn't start until 10 ! I was sooooo mad! All in all it wasn't so bad. The sugar drink (orange flavored) made me a little nauseas, but I was able to keep it down. I'll get my results on Monday. The next few days are going to go by reeeeeeally slooooooow. ~ Kassie
Guest guest
They are still doing the tolerance tests in your area. Here they use a series of blood draws and not the tolerance tests as they are not that accurate. When I changed doctors last year they sent me to a tolerance test and I passed it and the doctor told me I did not have diabetes anymore. I did not spill any sugar but my blood work with out of sight. He did not look at the blood work but was using the idea that spilling sugar was the condition of being diabetic. He was also the same doctor that told me that any BG levels under 120 were dangerous and he was trying to remove most of my insulin to get me to the 200 range. I dropped him fast, actually got up in the middle of the appointment and said I have heard enough and said good bye. I also informed the insurance that I was not happy with the appointment and they refused payment. I knew more than that doctor did. I now see that the practice he WAS with has filled his position with someone else. I WONDER WHY??????????????? Bill Newman -- Rochester, NY wtnewman@... Guest guest
Ugghhh they always love to make you wait... The best is when you are having an abdominal ultrasound and have to drink 8-10 glasses of water so you bladder will be full... then they keep telling you " Don't go to the bathroom!!! " Meenie Re: My Doc Appointment >From: KB4avon@... > >Hi All, > Had my glucose tolerance test yesterday. They had me scheduled for 9am, >but didn't start until 10 ! I was sooooo mad!
