www.drkoop.com has some information on tricor.

I took lipitor before, but it didn't help.

My endo prescribed it and he is aware of all the medications I am taking.

He is following the prescribing information and checking liver every 2

months for the first year - actos.

I also learned to have my bp checked standing instead of sitting. It was to

high siting but was normal standing.

JANEY, No, hon, 's doc put her on Lasix--which is a powerful

diuretic (water pill) because she was so full of IV fluids after

being in the hospital. Fluids are good to keep us hydrated, and make

everything work well--kidneys etc. However, if there starts to be a

fluid build up, our hearts have to work harder, and our blood

pressure goes up, so then we get a pill that causes our kidneys to

release a little more water from our system everyday. (Many people

take water pills to keep their blood pressure at a normal level.) In

obese folks, water builds up a bit easier because in between each

fat cell water is retained. After taking a water pill for a few days

when there is a fluid build up, we often experience a huge weight

drop--seemingly overnight. That is what caused 's

tremendous 'water weight' loss; the rest of her weight loss has come

from her following her post op diet.

might not be a bad idea sis ! I want you to be perfect too and who will

see you for after care when you get home ? Obviously not the last DR who did

your previous surgeries ! I had my first labs done last Thursday and will have

them all back today I am kinda anxious for mom to tell me what she thinks.

Ethel:

No problem. I already told them that I wouldn't be in the office on

Wednesday. I'll work from home for a little while in the morning and then head

down to the hospital in the afternoon. If you aren't up to getting up and

walking the halls I'll just sit there and keep you both company.

You're doing great getting everything together. If you need anything let me

know.

Suzanne:

I was on clear liquids for almost 2 months after my surgery. Now I'm very

careful to choose foods that are high in protein, low fat and low carbohydrate.

I stay somewhere between 500 and 600 calories a day and walk on my treadmill 45

minutes a day (not all at the same time). So I'm not really doing anything

special.

Ava:

I'm sorry that your pain keeps you from doing the things you would like to do in

your life. I don't know what the pain of fibromyalgia is like but I understand

from talking with people that have it that its severe. I have severe carpal

tunnel and osteoarthritis and I know on the days when I am in pain I can barely

function. I can't imagine how much worse things are for you. Hopefully the

medical profession will come to realize that fibromyalgia is a real disease and

start looking for better ways to treat and maybe one day cure it.

update

Hello my sisters and brothers, Mom and Dad,

I am still doing fabulously I think.. I have experienced a few episodes of

nausea because I chose to eat the wrong foods for the stage of recovery I am at

presently.. Mom quickly pointed that out to me.

I feel good, have energy to go and do the things I need to do without

violating the lifting restrictions and etc that I am under from the surgeon.

I probably need to submit myself for one of Ava's whompings.. I have not

been faithfully doing the 150 gm of protein daily, but getting between 90 and

120 most days.. also have had some days where water consumption was really

slackin. I am putting forth effort to get more protein down and more water in

..... I have finally readjusted to east coast time, seems it took forever though,

We are having crazy weather here.. low 30/s this morning, sunny and very

windy, and now in mid 60's. No wonder everyone here is sick with flu/bronchitis,

colds, etc,

I was glad to hear that Vic is resting and doing well after her surgery. My

prayers are going out for her still..

Maddy had an abdominal xray and u/s of her kidneys and bladder today.

She said the urologist after the scans. She is still retaining urine.

The doc is concerned because she saw Maddy about 6 weeks ago and she

said things are progressing. She listened to Maddy's other symptoms

again. She wants her to have another mri of her lower spine. She said

again based on symptoms she probably has a tethered cord. She said if

nothing is done surgically that her bladder function will continue to

get worse. The next step would be teaching me how to cath her or do

surgery to wear she pees in a diaper. She asked what nsg has said I told her he

ordered an mri of her neck which is in about 6 weeks, and he said he thinks her

nerves are interfering with her bladder. We saw the

pediatrician yesterday who said she thinks she has a tc and she needs to have

another mri done of her lower spine as well. I will call nsg

office tomorrow morning to demand that mri. If he refuses I will take

her somewhere else. I dont want this to get any worse to were its too

late even with tc surgery. I already have a name and info for another

doc. Please keep Maddy in your prayers.
