Guest guest
, I'm afraid you never get rid of it. You can, however, bring in under control, so that your bg's are the same as a normal person. The control becomes far easier when you've lost weight, if you are overweight, that is. Losing over weight inproves insulin resistance, and may people can lower or get off their meds with a careful diet and exercise program. It is always with us, and we need always be aware of bg control and the consequences, if we don't. Barb -------------- RAINBOW FARM UNLTD. Can you get rid of it just by eating healthy but not lose weight? Thanks in advance... >> Hi, ...sorry to say, once you've got it, it's forever. HOWEVER, it can be controlled, in some cases, by diet alone...or diet and pills...or diet and pills and insulin. But it never goes away. There are people on this list who control by diet alone but that diet is permanent -- that's why people refer to the low-carb WOE (way of eating) - because " diet " implies that it's something you do for a while then go back to your old way of eating. Which, in the case of diabetics, is just not possible. If you did, the BGs would start acting up again. It's not just overweight that causes diabetes, there are other major factors, mainly a pancreas that just isn't working right, to various degrees. . Losing weight can help with a lot of health problems including diabetes - but it won't make it go away. HOpe this clears things up. There are some really excellent informational references on our website You might want to check it out. Vicki PS: Are you sure you read that simply losing weight would get rid of diabetes? That's simply not true.

Guest guest
, You will never get rid of it, but you may we able to eliminate the symptoms and avoid complications such as neruopathy, loss of vision, etc. What losing weight does for many people is to make it easier to keep glucose levels regulated. diabetes type 2 > From: 768@... > > Hi Everyone, > I seem to be reading conflicting ideas on diabetes type 2. Guest guest
I know.....I'm still a novice at this. What does ROFL stand for??? By the way, I may be out of touch for a few days. One of my sons is coming to take me home (to Austin) with him tomorrow. He's also taking my computer to do some major overhauling on it. Hopefully he gets it back up and running so I'll have it ready to play with on Monday or Tuesday. I'm really addicted to this. I don't know if I can stand being away from y'all for a whole week! *sniff, sniff* Naomi Re: diabetes type 2 > > > > > > > From: WHIMSY2@... > > > > > > In a message dated 00-02-11 01:58:09 EST, you write: > > > > > > << Tomorrow, I'll send the new one out to those who have given me > > profiles. >> > > > > > > Teri, I accidentally blipped off the new address without copying it. > Could > > > you give it to me again please?
