Guest guest
Thanks Sheli, I'm pretty convinced that exercise is a large help with fibro. I'm just getting started with my program, but I personally know of 2 fibro friends that are in remission from their fibro and both are taking magnesium with malic acid and exercising. My doctor at the health club (chiropractor) did his thesis on Fibromyalgia and has 3 other patients of his at the club that are in remission from Fibro. So.. I'm doing it and I think... no... make that... I KNOW.... that this will work for me. I'm pretty convinced that having an attitude that I can and will beat this somehow... also will add to getting there. If you can exercise (especially water exercises) will help. I've been allergic to exercise (translated... hate it more than anything) but I'm gonna force myself to get over it, and do whatever I can. Last night at the gym, my physiotherapist took the time to spend with me and the personal trainer to make sure the trainer didn't try to get me to do anything that would be harmful. I'm so grateful that there are people that are taking an active interest in my well being. It was nice to see the personal trainer getting lessons on what Fibro is and how to help me. I feel protected from injury or overdoing it now. tender hugs, Norah Norah Bleazard - Burlington, Ontario Canada www.bleazard.net ~ www.janorlites.com E-MAIL= norah.fibroyahoo@... I did a search on the internet this morning for fitness / workout videos for people with fibromyalgia and several responses came back for one called Carol's Health Bounce. There is a synopsis at http://www.needak-rebounders.com/Carols_Health_Bounce.htm Has anyone ever tried this? She has fibro, arthritis and CFS and developed this and says it helps. I am curious to know if anyone has tried it and if they enjoy it and if it works? I of course would wear my knee braces...*L*... but hey, if it helps like it helped her it should be good. Any thoughts? Hugs all... Sheli

Guest guest
Norah... I think it can help too...however, I had a huge disappointment with a gym here that I had a contract with... they said I could place the contract on hold for my fibro flares when they were too bad to workout, however, they neglected to tell me that even though they put it on hold, I still pay the monthly contract fee...so what good does it do to put it on hold? Plus, the trainer was a bit too rigid for me... and I would love to have the facilit strictly for the use of the pool as the outside pools here...well, too much time in the heat for me... we cannot just do a pool program and the gyms are quite high here. Actually everything is high here, we have a really high cost of living in Phoenix. I am hoping you get some relief from all you are doing...it makes me tired just reading the list! Guest guest
Hi: I used to be a big time exerciser, even though I hated it. I did weight training and was asked to compete in body building, but didn't. Now I really miss the exercising, but have a hard time doing it. I'm working out on my Needak bouncer now and even that hurts. I've posted before and will again, but Dr. Lowe (www.drlowe.com) states that 90% of fibro is related to thyroid problems, undetected by blood tests. How can you mind over matter a deficiency? > Thanks Sheli, > > I'm pretty convinced that exercise is a large help with fibro.
