Guest guest
Thankyou Connie, I appreciate that.Luckily I talk to my mother every day, as we now for the first time in over 30 years live within blocks of each other. My husband is on the road a lot, but due in tonight for a week.Needless to say, my two dogs and I are really anxious to see him.He has always been so supportive, considering that fibro changed not only my life, but his too.Not all of us are lucky or blessed enough for this support.I have a friend who has a husband that pushed her to keep doing all kinds of water exercises and things that really hurt her, despite having fibromyalgia. Finally, when doctors diagnosed her with fibro, he relented...but I know he still gives her a hard time.Makes me feel I am so lucky! Guest guest
> Many people are so ill, that they can't respond, but the knowing that they are not alone is enough (why some lurk). I have no problem with " lurkers " . I, myself, am a " lurker " on a few other groups. Some people like the knowledge and support that they get just knowing that there are others out there with the same things that they have. We talk about things and others jump in and say " I have that " - well, the lurkers are more than likely to be doing the same thing - finding out that there are others out here just as odd as they are. Some people do not have the time, energy, or are just too shy to post. On my other groups, I lurk because I do not have the time to be active on multiple lists. As for there being >500 members - I lurk on another fm group with almost 1500 members and a few other types with over 2000 - so I guess we aren't too big. One more thing before I finish running my mouth off.... LOL. This list has gotten much more active lately. I don't know how many of you check out the numbers but in March there were 1252 posts, April - 1117, May - 1827, June - 2000, and in the first 10 days of July there are already 914. Sooooo.... if all of those lurkers chose to start posting ... I think I'd have to give up what little sleep I get to read them all. Just my 5 cents (inflation you know) <g>, a -- another of the mods

Guest guest
I agree with you and that is exactly what I meant. I would never unsub someone just because they hadn't posted in awhile, in fact I would be concered that something was wrong and try to find out. And one good way to find out as I'm sure you know and after running a few groups myself, I would go through the membership and if they were on no mail or hadn't participated in long time (3 months or so) then a letter would be sent out asking if they still wanted to be apart of the group and that they had a time frame in which to answer, say 2-4 weeks. I would then write a short note when I unsubbed them that read something like this " I'm sorry to have to unsub you but as you did not respond back to my email, subject line ________________ , we find that we have to choice. If this is an error and you do want to remain a member of_____________, please subcribe again to (whatever your subcription address is) People never got upset, most never replied back and that was the end of that. As I saud *JMHO* ~~~~~~~~~~ Namaste Anya ----- Original Message ----- From: Kristy Sokoloski Anya, Most are lurkers. The thing to do is send out an admin message to all lurkers (which I have a couple times) and find out where everyone is and also get some to introduce themselves. But it wouldn't be fair to unsub those that can't post all the time b/c they are in a flare. Also, some people prefer just to lurk and read the messages and get help that way so that also wouldn't be fair to ask them to leave. That's just my thought.
