Guest guest Posted February 17, 2012 Report Share Posted February 17, 2012 KidSpeak, LLC Summer 2012 June 11, 2012 – August 17, 2012 **Closed: Monday, July 2 – Friday, July 6, in celebration of Independence Day** Social Schoolers (ages 5 – 8) Monday/Wednesday 9:00 – 12:00 This group is designed for children with high receptive and expressive language skills who will be attending Kindergarten, First Grade and/or Second Grade in the Fall of 2012. The focus in this group is to increase socialization and language skills while working on academic skills. Even though there is a focus on academic skills (such as writing, literacy, math, etc.), the main focus of this group is socialization with peers. This group will eat lunch during this time. This group has a classroom ratio of 1 speech pathologist to 4 kids. Spaces limited to 8 children. (18 sessions) Location: KidSpeak, LLC Main Office Preschool III Group (ages 3 – 6) Monday/Wednesday 9:00 – 11:30 This group is designed for children who are already familiar with a classroom setting. These children use and understand a higher level of language than the Preschool I and Preschool II Groups. This group is focused on increasing language (use and understanding), increasing play skills, increasing social communication skills with both peers and adults, increasing socialization skills and early academic skills. This group will eat snack during this time. The Preschool III Group is designed to help prepare your child for a typical structured Preschool or Pre-K program. This group has a classroom ratio of 1 speech pathologist to 4 kids. Spaces limited to 6 children. (18 sessions) Location: KidSpeak, LLC Main Office Friendship Summer Camp Tuesday/Thursday 9:00 – 11:30 Group One (Ages 5 – 7) This group is designed for children with high receptive and expressive language skills that are about to enter a Kindergarten, First Grade or Second Grade classroom. This group will focus on increasing their joint attention skills as well as their emerging Theory of Mind skills through friendship activities: how to make friends, how to keep friends, how to play with friends and much more. This group will also be utilizing the Social Detective curriculum by Winner. This group will have a ratio of 1 speech pathologist to 6 kids. Spaces limited to 6 children. (18 sessions) Location: Central Congregational Church 5600 Royal Lane Dallas, Texas 75229 Group Two (Ages 6 – 8) This group is designed for children with high level expressive and receptive language skills. The focus of this camp is to work on Theory of Mind skills within friendships: how to make friends, how to keep friends, how to play with friends and much more. This group will also be utilizing the Social Detective and the Superflex curriculums by Winner. This group has a ratio of 1 speech pathologist to 6 kids. Spaces limited to 6 children. (18 sessions) Location: Central Congregational Church 5600 Royal Lane Dallas, Texas 75229 Friendship Summer Camp (ages 8 – 11) Tuesday/Thursday 12:00 – 2:30 This group is designed for children with high level expressive and receptive language skills. The focus of this camp is to work on Theory of Mind skills within friendships: how to make friends, how to keep friends, how to play with friends and much more. This group will also be utilizing the Social Detective and the Superflex curriculums by Winner. This group has a ratio of 1 speech pathologist to 6 kids. Spaces limited to 8 children. (18 sessions) Location: Central Congregational Church 5600 Royal Lane Dallas, Texas 75229 Sensory and Language Group (ages 4 – 7) Tuesday/Thursday 9:00 – 11:30 This group is designed for children who have a variety of sensory needs. The purpose of this program is to ensure that each child is receiving the sensory input they require so that they can work on increasing their language skills (expressive and receptive) as well as their social skills. A snack will be provided each day within this group. This group has a classroom ratio of 1 speech pathologist to 3 kids. Spaces limited to 6 children. (18 sessions) Location: KidSpeak, LLC Main Office Preschool II (ages 3 – 5) Tuesday/Thursday 1:30 – 3:30 This group is designed for children who are already familiar with a classroom setting. These children use and understand a higher level of language than the Preschool I Group. This group is focused on increasing language (use and understanding), increasing play skills, increasing social communication skills with both peers and adults, increasing socialization skills and introduces early pre-literacy skills. This group will eat snack during this time. The Preschool II Group is designed to help prepare your child for a typical structured Preschool or Pre-K program. This group has a classroom ratio of 1 speech pathologist to 4 kids. Spaces limited to 6 children. (18 sessions) Location: KidSpeak, LLC Main Office Fun Friday – JUNE ONLY (ages 4 – 12) Friday 9:00 – 11:00 This group is designed for children of all ages and all levels. This group will consist of 3 sessions: June 15, June 22 and June 29. These sessions will be held at Les Lacs Park 3901 Beltway Drive , Texas 75001. In the event of rain these session will be held at KidSpeak, LLC’s main office. The children will be broken up into smaller groups based on their ages and their skills. These sessions will focus on increasing each child’s social language (expressive and receptive), play skills, emotional regulation and much more. The ratio for each small group will depend on each specific child’s needs (it may be 1:1, 1:2 or 1:3, 1:4, etc.). In order to participate within this group each family must sign a waiver allowing KidSpeak, LLC to take photos to use for all purposes. Spaces for this group are very limited. (3 sessions) All groups focus on the individualized social communication and socialization needs of each child. There is a $20 registration fee for each group (plus the tuition payment). Participants within KidSpeak, LLC Summer 2012 Groups will receive a copy of their weekly daily note. Registration is due by Friday, May 4, 2012. Current KidSpeak, LLC early registration ends on Friday, March 2, 2012. If your child is not a current client of KidSpeak, LLC, your child must participate within a Speech and Language Evaluation or an Intake Interview.
