CSF Leak - Another question

For those that have had to have surgery to correct the CSF leak, does it require

opening up the entire incision area from the tethered cord release surgery??

What is the recovery time?? Do you still have to remain on your stomach for 48

hours?? Is this the same as a pseudomeningocele (sp?) ?? Sorry for all of the

questions, but I'm going nuts while waiting on the docs to get back to us with

info.? My son does have a bump on one side of his incision which is I guess

where the fluid is draining.? Thanks again for any info.

lol...Yea, I drank a lot! Plus, I never moved only to go to the bathroom. I

would say I drank a 6-pack of dew a day. I never drank caffeine before that

really...I would maybe have a glass of coke at a party but that was it. When my

NS said to drink caffeine it would help with the headaches and keep the CSF

going around and not leak out as much...that is what I did! lol Unfortunately,

it didn't work the hole was to big and had surgery. But, now the little leak I

have it more of a bother than anything. I can function throughout the day just

can't bend over to pick things up without my pressure in my head. I've had this

leak for 8 months...still waiting for it to heal on its own!
