Guest guest
Hello Everyone, I need some help in figuring out what has caused my son's hives. I have a guess, but I don't want to say because I don't want to bias the group if you know what I mean. So I will give the sequence of events. Mother's Day, sunday, we had a BBQ where there was lots of yummy fruits on a platter all of which he has eaten before the list includes, melons to varieties honeydew, and cantelope, pineapple, and purple grapes. For dessert a fruit cake was eated with strawberries, kiwi, and blueberries on top YUMMY. Kiwi was the only new fruit he had. I think. Monday nothing new either except he ate cucumber with the skin on something he had not done in a long time and also my neice forgot to wash the cucumber didn't know that until after the fact. Monday all was well, Tuesday morning 7 am oh boy! Hives!!! Chest, top of head a little on the checks, back and legs. Gave benadryl went away in 20 minutes great sent him to day care. 11:30 got a call, he's coughing and wheezing slightly, hives are back twice as bad all over the face. Told them to give the benadryl again, a puff of the inhaler and that I would be right there. Called the doc they wanted him in the ER. Didn't dare to drive him so we went to the firestation. Paramedics looked at him he was doing fine so I drove him to his docs. Shortly after the doctors the hives were back again of course didn't happen at the docs, and his face began to swell! More benadryl and watching closely. By tuesday night they were slowing going away today thursday they are almost gone expect right around the trunk where his underwear sits. Docs or should I say nurse practioner, Gabe's regular doc was not there, doesn't know what caused it. She said the kiwi eaten sunday nice was to fair back. No new lotions, detergents etc. If I have left something out question me and I will answer. Like I said I have a guess I just wanted to hear it from others. Please help I want him test ASAP.
