They didn't get very far. They all ended up with additional chores and not

going where they wanted to and then to bed early. They also had to help me the

next day with barn chores and apologize in a letter (reinforcing the letter

writing skills they learned in school this year.)

Made good use of their attitudes :)

Re: I'm CURED!

Ow....Ow....Ow....Ow.......

Wow, I can't believe the remarks !! No way would that be allowed

in my household...esp. from my children...My son came home one

weekend from college and remarked on the mess the place was...dishes

not done, floor not swept....said it embaressed him in front of his

friends.....My husband handed him a broomand informed him whenhe got

done using that that he'd have the dishes soaking for him.....!! But

what really hurt my son the most was my telling him later that " I "

was hurt by his remarks..... Never happened again...LOL

I guess when I hurt my back and then had the two kids then had

to go on disability..even tho I took codiene for almost 20 years..I

never saw housework as...work...With kids we started early on making

them aware I didn't work in this house so don't ask me to be a maid

for you. Our boy learned how to do laundry, iron, make meals etc.

very early and with money being short..SSI doesn't pay what I'd have

made working for the state as an LPN....money was short..he learned

that paper routes and bussing tables paid for things he

wanted...like a moped....N-Tendo games.etc. my daughter was too sick

for her first 13 years of life to have that work ethic and was a

problem up til she graduated and had to 'do' for herself...Now that

the fibro bug has her...she's told me several times she doesn't see

how I managed all those years...She has a very low pain threshold

and as a result of her early illness has a nick name of " Miss

Mess " .. She would never be able to stay with her brother who is the

exact opposite...Well now she's back home and rules had to be set

down. For her... " I know you hurt but.... " I try to set examples by

doing..but when I hit that platau when I can't get out of bed in the

morning until my pain meds have started working....then and only

then is when the work gets done. and I expect the same from her.

Lynn, How old are your daughters?

> My daughters (who I also love dearly) " Mom, would you please get

out of bed and take us _____ (you fill in the blank). We want to go

and Dad isn't home. We don't want to do our chores and you have to

make us supper too. Oh, but we don't like that. "

>

> Can you all tell I have had one hellacious day. And - has

anyone ever filled out their pain report for disability? What kind

of questions are those?????!??!?!?!

With my disability being part from a back injury related to my

past work [LPN] Pain isn't as much an issue as mobility and balance.

I have a right leg that collapses on me if I over do...I fractured 3

of my toes a combined total of 5 times as a result. I guess alot of

my pain shows in how I move as even my neighbors will comment they

don't know how I do what I do for my kids and yard/garden...a couple

have a wager going on what I'll break next....LOL I've had to

promise to stay off step ladders.

Be what may I can't imagine having to deal with people even

relatives and their remarks concerning pain....My condolences are to

you and I wish there was something I could say to make people

understand who have no concept of what pain can do to a person,

maybe stomp on the toes and say.......now that didn't hurt did

it...?.......then step on the other foot.

Just Me... K

1. While it is wonderful to share our experiences with everyone on the list

as to what treatments do and don't work for us, pls always check with your dr.

Some treatments are dangerous when given along with other meds as well as to

certain health conditions or just dangerous in general.

2. If you are in a difficult situation (doesn't matter what it is) pls don't

be afraid to ask for help. It is the first step to trying to make that

situation better.

Have a nice day everyone.
