I, too, have had fibro for years, but wasn't diagnosed until 10 years ago. My name is Camilla and I am a musician. I teach piano and play at church when I am able. When I was finally diagnosed, the rheumatologist told me... " You have fibromyalgia. You can take ibuprofen for the pain, and I will see you again in a year. " Needless to say, I never went back. I go through periods of activity and inactivity, and right now it is very active. I can no longer hold down a job, because when it does get active, I have a hard time getting out of bed and am worn out by the time I take a shower... and it hits an employer hard when you have been a model employee until that time. In a way, part of it is a blessing, at least I am staying home with my son, which I love... I just wish I felt better doing it. (Oh yeah, and an income would help out every now and again also. *L*) Well, I suppose I have bored you all to tears already, so I will stop now... but I am happy to be here and have others to communicate with that are experiencing what I do. Best wishes! Sheli 1. While it is wonderful to share our experiences with everyone on the list as to what treatments do and don't work for us, pls always check with your dr. Some treatments are dangerous when given along with other meds as well as to certain health conditions or just dangerous in general. 2. If you are in a difficult situation (doesn't matter what it is) pls don't be afraid to ask for help. It is the first step to trying to make that situation better. Have a nice day everyone. I also had a nother doctor recommend some supplements for me, which are helping lots too, so I think I am skipping the rheumys for now... my luck with them has not been good thus far.
