Guest guest
How's Everyone??.... Had a wet 4th but a quiet one. Really achey joints but the weather has been so changable..have seen it go from mid 70's to high 80's in under 15 minutes......Some places not more than 30 miles from us got hail and high winds...but fortunately it missed us. Would be doing alot better but my cat Kali decided to pull a 'hide- and-seek' game with us Sat. night....made it to the corn and didn't show her face again for 5 hours......and naturaly I had to go looking for her...in the corn....went in about 60 rows with Tina right beside me and our trusty flash lights with energizer batteries....It was really dark by 9 pm and the corn was way over our heads...7-8 feet tall....I told Tina if we got separated to look up for the treelines and head that way..lol If you've ever been in a corn field you'll understand what it's like...after awhile there is no left or right or even an up or down...Total disorientation.....Can understand how children can get lost in a corn field....When Tina was younger she and 3 other little girls decided to make a house out in the corn...used corn knives and cut out 'rooms' in the corn..even had hallways....closets..etc. Very ingenuitly done....But the poor farmer wasn't too thrilled....Always wondered how that would look from a sky view...? Even had a 'house' visit from the local cop......Yep I can laugh now but at the time we could only thank God no one cut off a finger or toe......but some butts were hurting that night.....lol Only one incident to mar the week-end. My car got backed into by a friend of my son's ...dented the passenger door but it still opens and has a place on the other side that is almost a match...As you can guess it wasn't anytnhing major and the Tracer, 91' got off litely when the pickup's bumper looked like it had hit a tree. Had a basset hound from a block or two away come and say hi to us just as we started setting up to grill....so had to put that off for awhile...Kobi, our male cat had a catniption but survived....I wondered why he was trying to touch his nose with his back paws....Poor puppy didn't stand a chance between my two cats and the neighbor's 3......you could tell he knew about cats from his tucked tail and desire to put as much space between him and them as he could. lol Well. that's my news for the time being hope all had a safe and 'dry' weekend. Guest guest
That reminds me when we were stupid Seniors in HS and brave (no, wait, just stupid!) and we went to Germany, just me and my best friend, on a school trip. We went to the black forest. They call it that because it's so thick, if you walk in a few feet, it's black and you cannot even see the sunlight to find your way out. They told us your best bet is to just stay put. Well, we decided that it was probably an urban legend or something. So, we walked in there. In about 4 minutes, we were done!! Couldn't see the road. We were in there a few yards. We just stayed put and yelled. Our bus driver got help and found us. After that, we clung to our bus driver, Pasquale, and listened to whatever he said. So, I know what you mean about the cornfield. You just get totally disoriented. Margaret, Mom to the monsters Monday..er Tuesday checking in... How's Everyone??.... Had a wet 4th but a quiet one. Some treatments are dangerous when given along with other meds as well as to certain health conditions or just dangerous in general. 2. If you are in a difficult situation (doesn't matter what it is) pls don't be afraid to ask for help. It is the first step to trying to make that situation better. Have a nice day everyone. Guest guest
...your description of the tall corn made me think of 'Field of Dreams " . Did you get to see that? Please be nice to that naughty kitty....she was just acting like a pussy cat does. That's a shame about your car. Reminds me of telling Manda...when she turned 16 and was driving that I thought she was backing out of the garage too fast. She, being a 16 year old, ignored me. I was standing out in the yard one day and she was driving our NEW car....too fast...and she bashed into 's NEW company car. Needless to say......there were big time repercussions. I shouldn't act too mean about her.........because I really had an easy time of it with her. We were so musically compatible that we could always smooth things over....I played piano and she played the alto recorder and we truly did make beautiful music together.
