I have fibro and osteoarthritis...I have other medical problems but those 2 are the ones that give me all of my pain. I use duragesic pain patches and they help a lot. I use icy hot and salonpas patches for my arthritis pain...along with heat and ice when I need it. Hot showers help a lot, too. I can't take baths because I can't get into and out of the bathtub...way too painful. I take a lot of naps, also. Yesterday I went shopping with my daughter for several hours...today I was exhausted...as I knew I would be. I slept until 10 and laid back down at 1 and slept until around 4. I am feeling better tonight...but when I need a nap...I have to take it. I haven't worked for 2 years. I have applied to disability and been denied 2 times...I now have a lawyer and I'm waiting for a court date. Do you see a rheumatologist? You mentioned you take methadone...do you take anything else when the pain gets really bad? This is a great group and you will get lots of info here...ask away if you need to... I know what you mean about no one believing that you're sick cuz you look good. I'm a 51 year old goddess with a beautiful 26 year old son and daughter-in-law. Hubby and I have been together for over 15 years....I was diagnosed recently and just found out that I have arthritis in my back, so still sort of dealing with the drugs etc. As far as you being a lesbian, I don't care who you sleep with...lol... I am 32, married for almost 6 yrs, have 5 girls (1 step, 4 mine) ranging from 16 - 9 yo. I haven't worked in almost 2 yrs from different problems and am considering applying for disability - UGH. I have been dx'd w/fm for 1 1/2 yrs, but can place symptoms back for about 10 yrs. You're right - it does suck most of the time.
